Father's Day Weekend.....

Work has been keeping me plenty busy so I'm finally taking the time to blog this morning.  (I hate missing days!!)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day weekend.

Because the best cards are the hand made ones!  :)
Here's what went down at the Darling house:

Saturday, Supa had to work until 2 PM so we had time to get a few things accomplished before he came home.

First things first, I needed to get my nails done.  LOL.  The kids came with me (by brute force) because I thought they needed to get out of the house!
The more I get my nails done, the more creative I get.  I think after the fact that my lines should have been white and then the sparkly glitter would have popped even more.  Hmmmm...Maybe next week.
We went straight back home afterwards because we had a Father's Day cake to bake!!

Before!

After!!
LOL, I would like to say that Dazzle or Neon wrote on Supa's cake but no, it was me.
I know the writing looks like complete shit but I'm not ashamed because it tasted like pure heaven!  I know that's what counts most.  I didn't have any white icing to decorate the cake with so I improvised and used cookie gel.  Obviously it didn't work out too well because it was thin and it ran all over the place.  Supa giggled and dug right in!  He didn't give a damn and I knew he wouldn't!

When Supa got home from work he had these awaiting him:

LOL, he had no idea we even bought him anything!  WOO!
After he took off his tie and changed out of his work clothes it was time to open them!!!

Tee hee!!
In case you can't tell, we got him:

*Men In Black 2 DVD - We had the first Men In Black movie but not this one and I overheard him saying he wanted to watch the second one to prepare for the third installment that's coming out so he could watch it with the kids.

*an angry birds t-shirt (now he has two of them :)

*a tie/belt rack (that he so desperately needed since he has about 50 ties - which would be my fault, heehee)

*a card from me and a card from the kids (the one from the kids was a talking Simpson's card - very cute and extremely Supa-like)

*an X-Box live points card - I'm not completely sure what he uses these for but I know he likes them!

Based on the look on his face, we did a good job.  He loved everything :)

We also took Supa to dinner that night.  He picked Olive Garden :)  YUM!  We just went there for Mother's Day but the kids and I LOVE eating there so we were totally OK with that decision!

***I was so proud of myself having complete control over what I ate and not overeating at all.  It's such a liberating feeling to be able to eat what I want yet no over-do it.  AND it would be really stupid to exercise each day and then go blow it all on one meal.  I'm not that stupid!  LOL***

It was fun watching everyone else eat themselves into a food coma.....

Case in point:

This is Neon.  Very, very full and almost unconscious.   LOL!!!!

Once we got home, it was relaxation time!  Supa and I decided to watch Paranormal Activity together.  I had already seen the first one a while back but Supa missed it so we watched it again.  Of course, we sent the kids in their rooms because the movie was rated R and we definitely sensor what the kids watch.  When we were finished with the movie, the kids wanted to hear all about it.  So, we told them the basic story line and the subject of a Ouija board came up.  They had no idea what one was so we explained.

Then the conversation went towards all things Ouija and it got a little weird.  LOL
Hopefully the kids won't be asking for me to buy them a Ouija board anytime soon.  Supa is not too fond of talking to or inviting in ghosts/demons/spirits.  (I on the other hand think it's harmless fun and all a bunch of mumbo jumbo bullshit)

Supa said he loved his Father's day and he had a great time with us.  :)  SCORE!

I took a few doggie pictures this weekend:

Dazzle holding Odie.

I really don't understand WHY my little 4 pound Chihuahua looks like a demon dog!  In every picture I have ever taken of him, he has red eye issues!!!!

See!  Another red eye!

And yet again.  I love how Dazzle holds Odie like he's her baby.  LOL, poor doglet.

Copper looks pretty happy that's he's too big to carry around.  :)
Sunday Supa had to work all day so I got up at the crack of dawn to mow the lawn.  I had one hell of a time with the lawn mower.  Apparently, Supa lowered the blade (a little too low) and it was almost impossible to push.  It was so low to the ground that the blades would just stop turning and the damn thing would turn off.  Well, that's my worst fear because it takes me about 15-20 minutes to get the fucking thing started.

(It's such a piece of shit!!!  I've already announced to Supa that once we get back from our beach vacation, we are buying a new lawn mower and a sledge hammer at the same time so that I can take the old one outside and have the pleasure of beating it to death)

I did get the grass cut but it was very difficult and it took me twice as long as it should have.  FML!!!  I also weed eated (with a weed eater that I hate just about equally) BUT the yard does look amazing so GO APPLE!!!!!  Hopefully that means I burned DOUBLE the calories!  :)

We just hung out for the rest of the day.  The kids and I watched some of our TV shows together, (Master Chef, America's Got Talent) and before I knew it, Supa was home and it was time to make dinner.  TACO night!  YAY!

After dinner, Supa and I decided to watch Paranormal Activity 2.  We liked them both and I can't wait to watch the third one.....Maybe tonight???

Oh shit!  I didn't know the third one had little girls in it!  BOO!!!
Yesterday was Monday and I was super busy.  The work day flew by like crazy!

Supa did come pick me up to take me to our first marriage counseling session.  I was a little bit nervous before we got there but once we met the doctor and started talking, I forgot all about being nervous!  The first hour long session was basically just her getting to know us and asking a whole bunch of questions.  We sat on the couch together, holding hands and we answered  all of the questions honestly and openly.  She had a few encouraging words for us and she also gave us homework to be completed by our next appointment in a week:

**If we start to argue, time ourselves out.  Literally give each other a time out like people do to their kids.  Stop talking and go take a time out to calm down and then regroup later.  (We haven't had to practice this one yet but I'm sure it's bound to happen before next week)

**Write down all of our expectations for each other and be prepared to bring them with us next week.  (I have to get started on this one, I have a feeling my list is going to be REALLY long.  I know myself really well and I expect a lot)

**Go have fun together WITHOUT the kids or anyone else.  No talking about work, kids, bills or unpleasant stuff, just leave the house and have fun together like we used to.  (this one should be easy and I can't wait!)
This shit cost a whole lot more than Lucy's fee. (I feel it's going to be worth every dollar)  I'm so glad we have good insurance!!!
When we left, Supa and I both felt very positive about the experience and we are excited to go again.  We both liked the doctor too which is one of the things I was worried about.  YAY!  I'll keep everyone posted as we dig deeper into our marriage.

After the work day was over, Lolly came over to have dinner with us (leftover taco stuff).  After dinner we went out for our hour long walk.  We left the kids home with Supa this time so that we could have our girl talk time together :)  As we were walking along, I saw something dead and of course I had to stop and take a picture:
YUCK!  A dead snake!!!
So we're standing there, over the dead body and I'm attempting to take a picture of said snake with my shitty phone and it won't save the damn picture!!  As Lolly is taking this picture for me, a car drives up and stops in the middle of the road right beside us!  A man asks what is it?!  WTF...How about mind your own god damn business buddy!  So he gets out of his car and comes over to look at it.  I'm already trying to walk away (without leaving Lolly) because to me, everyone is a serial killer.  He stands there (I'm about 20 feet away at this point, Lolly in between Mr. Creeper and myself) and attempts to tell us how you can tell a poisonous snake from a harmless snake.  Newsflash buddy:

NOBODY GIVES A FUCK!  NOW GO AWAY!!!  But instead I say, "Thank you, have a good day." and wave Lolly to COME ON before he shoves us in his sedan!  Lolly said she wasn't worried because we could have taken him but I didn't want to have to break his face and mess up my afternoon exercise!  Thankfully, he took his own dead snake picture and drove on past us.  Fuck me.  Trouble and dead animals always seem to find us!

We got back to the house and I got straight on the toilet.  I'm sitting there reading a magazine, listening to Supa talk on the phone to Jade's husband when I decided to glance at my Horoscope.  (I don't usually care of believe in any of that stuff so I don't know why this meant so much to me but.....)

My horoscope said:

Clear out the clutter and make some extra cash by selling your discarded treasures.  It's not too late to have a yard sale.  Invite your neighbor to join you - It will lesson your workload and double your fun.  After the 25th, you'll want to cocoon with your honey, so make time for it.

SHUT UP!  I tore my scope out and read it out loud to Lolly, Dazzle, Neon and Supa.  They were equally as amused as I was.

I JUST made plans yesterday to have a yard sale THIS Saturday morning.  Red Lady (my neighbor at work) is going to join me and I also invited Jade (who is practically my neighbor) because I knew that we could help each other and we would have a total blast!  AND of course, I'm planning on cocooning with my husband hence our counseling homework!  WOW!  I don't think I've ever been so pleasantly surprised by my horoscope!  COOL!!!!

Lolly and I watched our show and then before I knew it, it was bedtime!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend like I did!  I have to get back to work now!

Laters,

Apple
