Catfish

I am officially obsessed with the new MTV show called "Catfish".  Go check it out.  I swear, it's absolutely riveting.   I'm also obsessed with seeing the Catfish documentary from where the TV show originated from.  I just learned online that I can own it on DVD on January 4th!  YAY!

I'm trying to get work done but I'm not being very productive today.

I'm getting ready to go shopping on my lunch break.  I can't believe how close Christmas is!!

It Was A Great Day

We got a bunch accomplished today...Now I'm tired. Lol.

Cat's been here for most of the day and is sleeping over tonight. I painted my nails "refresh mint" and added a few red dots...perfect for Christmas nails.

I went with Supa to look at work shoes for him and we ended up with a pair of work shoes, memory foam tennis shoes (Supa says they are mad comfortable) and a new pair of running shoes for me. I found them on clearance and my old ones were giving me blisters. Win!

We talked about going to Longhorn for dinner but ended up at Gilligan's - a local seafood restaurant. it was the first time we had been there and the crab cakes were to die for. We will definitely return.

Off to the couch,
Apple

Morning!

Tweet, tweet. Lol. This is kinda weird but fun...

We shopped until 1 am. I have a shopping handover. I have to take the little sick old man (Odie) to the pet place today so they can check him out. He's been acting like he's got a cold...

The kids and I are making 7 layer bars later. Grama used to make them and they are sooo good!

Quick Hi...Tweety?

It is...1:29 am. I just got home from Christmas shopping with Jade and Lolly. I'm sitting on the floor in my closet surrounded by bags going over my list...You know, checking the damn list twice. We got so much accomplished and as usual, had a blast.

Maybe I can use my blog as a type of Twitter....only a quick so many words or less....no photos :(

Hmm...

This Is Goodbye....

I'm not really even sure how to begin this post.  (Remember, this one will be missing photos, bastards at Blogger!)

This will be my very last post.  I have decided that it's time to take a break from blogging.  There are a few options for continuing this blog but I don't like any of them.  I know that everything happens for a reason and maybe I need to use my time to focus on other things in my life right now....

I'm not saying that I will never blog again because I have absolutely loved the time I have spent creating this blog.  This will be my 248th post!!  It doesn't seem like I have had that much to say but I guess I have!

My very first post titled, "Just The Beginning", was written on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.  Here we are at "This Is Goodbye" and it's Friday, December 14th, 2012.  Wow, it's shocking how fast time really flies.

When I started this blog, I never thought it would last this long.  I wasn't sure what I was going to write about or who was going to read what I came up with.  I guess I came up with something interesting most of the time I just pulled random shit out of my ass, which it looks like it worked!!  After checking my stats, I see that my blog has been viewed 4,664 times.  Wowza!!  That just blows my mind!

I really couldn't have made all this possible without my friends and family to support me, help me think of some great ideas, remind me to take photos when we go places because everyone knows what a slack photo bitch I am, and allow me to share our lives with mostly complete strangers.  It felt absolutely exhilarating to know that someone 4,664 of someones mind you cared about what I had to say.

Thank you to all the people who have spent their time reading my blog and to everyone who has contributed.

I would like to send a special shout out to a few awesome people because without their help, none of this would have meant much:

Supa Darling -

Thank you for being an amazing husband and supporter.   I'm glad you're seeing the good Dr. Jason so that you can be the best father and husband that I know you want to be for us.  Congratulations on being a super hero at Pub-Dizzle.  When you get this next promotion (very soon and rightfully earned) we should have a big "Supa" party :)   I love you more than words can express and I look forward to being married to you and spending the rest of our lives together.

Dazzle and Neon Darling -

You two mean the world to me.  My greatest accomplishment to date is being able to raise you.  You are both going to be wonderful, special adults and the world is lucky to have you.  Thank you for putting up with your Daddy and I.  I know that sometimes grownups are annoying and hard to understand but we have always done the best we knew how.  Thank you for understanding that you were too young to read your Mama's blog.  I hope that when you are older and I can allow you to read it, you'll think it's fucking awesome.  ;)

Uncle Darling -

We have the most strange relationship.  I think it's probably because we are both major    weird-os, cut from the same cloth.  I am so proud that you are my Uncle.  I will never forget how you helped take care of me when I was a little kid (you were my best friend!) even if you did scare the shit out of me often, that's what Uncle's do, right?  I am happy to report that I can watch Gremlins now without freaking out and having nightmares afterwards ;)  I really appreciate all the help you give me with my couponing.  I wouldn't be able to hoard food and turn my closet into a storage unit without you.  I hope you like your Christmas present that I made for you.  I had so much fun making it.  Even if you have a hell of a time expressing it, I know you love me and guess what?  I LOVE YOU, TOO!  xxoo & dings too!!

Aunt Darling -

I have only met one person on this planet that is a better human being than you.  Grampa!!  You are following in your Dad's footsteps and I know you are making both of your parents so proud!!  I have no idea how I would have turned out without you and I am so fortunate to have you in my life.  You are THE BEST aunt (substitute mommy, sister, daughter, great aunt and aunt in law) anyone could ever ask for.  I don't know what I would do without you and I love you, so much!!!  Here's to spending much more time together one day and continuing to help me be the best person I can be.

Jade Mask -

I have never met anyone who has stuck by my side like you have.  We have been friends for almost 15 years and when you're friends with someone like me, that's a lot of years of crazy shit.  You know what to say to calm me down, keep me from getting myself arrested, and you steer me clear of embarrassing myself in public (which I know has been hard since I wasn't born with a filter).  You have prevented me from killing people (Supa is only still alive because of you at this point), helped me figure out how to raise my children without killing everyone around me and saved me from being murdered myself a time or two.  I'm not even sure that I could put up with me if I were you but somehow you have managed.  I love you more than words can express and I only want you to live a full and amazing life.  I hope that we remain friends until we die.  Because of you, I did get to have a sister in this life, even if we were squeezed out of different vaginas.  :)  I love you, bitch!!!

Lolly Gal -

You have really become one of my very best friends.  I am so glad that we met on the teller line that day....You are really weird, but then again, so am I!  I'm sure that sometimes my craziness is probably frustrating and I promise as I get older, to try to continue to tame the insanity.  :)  I hope that I am a good best friend to you....I want you to remember to slap me around when I need it and keep me grounded.  I'm so very lucky to have you in my life and I'm really looking forward to us being friends forever.  Guess what else??  I love you so much!! Heehee!!  (PS, lunch today was so yummy!!!)

**And while we are talking about Lolly:

Camo Man -

Our family has really had a great time getting to know you.  We all think you're pretty awesome.  We wish you lived closer so you and Supa could hang out more.  I just want to let you know that Lolly is so special to us and her happiness is very important.  If you don't watch yourself, Neon is going to grow up and steal her away from you.  Behave, buddy!  LOL.  I can't wait to sit in the audience at your wedding and cry when I see how cute you guys look together.  I know you fit right in with our little group and you will be a great husband and father one day.  Keep up the good work and you'll be just fine!  Don't let us down.  I do believe that Supa has shared his gun collection with you......  ;)

Red Lightyear -

I heard your name before but didn't know anything about you or even what you looked like until I came to work in the call center.  It's so funny how life works that way....At first, you were too shy to really talk to me.  Then when our boss appointed you to help me, well, you didn't have a choice.  Haha!!  Soon, you became my work best friend!  We have cried together, laughed together, talked a whole bunch of shit together and supported each other in this place we call "work" hell on earth, jk.  Now you're not my work bestie anymore.  You've officially graduated to just being one of my besties :)  I love it when Supa and I hang out with you and Buzz.  You guys are super awesome and I'm so so so glad that we could become great friends.  Supa, the kids and I all love you guys!!  Tell Buzz I said, "You rock!!".

J. Strawberry -

Ah...My sweet J.  You are always going to be one of those people that I love to hate.  I know you are a good person on the inside.  You're also a cranky, know-it-all, hard headed bitch on the outside.  Yet, I know you would do anything for me and come to my rescue really quickly if I needed you to.  I love that you live down the street from me and that you married someone fucking awesome.  I always tell people that I love me some M. Strawberry and his tiny yet random t-shirts.  ;)  I think one of the main reasons that we don't get along very well is because we're very alike.   I'm totally comfortable with holding you at arms length so we don't murder each other.  I know when to call you for help and that you'll be there to answer my stupid computer questions.  I want you to know that I'm there for you too.  I'm not as unapproachable as I sometimes seem.  Oh, and I love you, yes, I do.  Mwah!!

Super Bass and Patient Woman -

You guys are the two most awesome lesbians that I have ever met, to date.  God really knew what he was doing when he introduced us.  Ya'll are the most giving, thoughtful, friendly, accepting and awesome friends I have ever had.  I don't think I have ever fallen in friend love with anyone faster than I have with you either.  My family loves you and we always look forward to spending time with you.  Keep in mind that we don't have to do anything fancy!  Just spending time together is so precious.  Time goes by so fast.... Super, there are days that I just want to drown myself in the toilet at work but you make the day bearable.  I can always come see you when I need a hug or a reassuring chat.  Thank you for that!  I love you guys and I know we are going to be friends for a long, long time.  xxoo

Nearly Perfect -

This bitch here doesn't even read my blog!  I don't think she ever has.  I always tease her and tell her that my REAL friends read my blog so she must not be a real friend.  Let me tell you, she is one of the most honest and loving friends that I have.  I like that Nearly is "take me as I am or don't take me".  She is the only child (me too), stubborn as hell (me too), spoiled fucking rotten (ME TOO!) and incredibly, blunt and honest (holy, shit, me too!!).  I can't figure out how we haven't killed each other yet (Jade, I'm sure you get credit for her being alive too) because we almost have identical personalities.  When I need to shut up, she tells me and I listen.  When she needs to calm the fuck down, I tell her and she listens.  There is nothing more refreshing then plain, raw honesty.  I'll take that over a fake bitch any day.  Nearly, I love you and in my mind you are truly, nearly perfect.

Kitti Marmalade & Ace Serene -

I was really hurt and hateful about our "breakup" when everything went down.  I was so upset that I decided that I didn't need any damn "friends" for the rest of my life and I would just become completely anti-social.  I'm not going to lie, it still burns sometimes when I think about it too much.  BUT, I do want to say that you two scandalous whores did teach me something.  There are bad people in the world who are stupid and like to take advantage of people, their friends and their family.  I now understand this and I know that I have to keep a look out for life suckers like yourselves in the future.  Let's just say that the interview process for being friends with me has just reached a whole new level.  I have to be even more choosy with who I allow into my life.  I would hate to let in a couple of hateful losers again.  To think, you snuck right under my nose (and Jade's, Lolly's, Nearly's, Supa's....even Aunt Darling was fooled) with your childish, immature, self-serving bullshit.  I still hope you are very happy together.  You deserve each other.

Jade says sometimes that she's kind of waiting for one of you to contact me to rekindle our friendship.  LOL, go right ahead.  I can't wait so that I can tell you to FUCK OFF!

That's all for now, folks.  (One of my favorite reoccurring lines here)  I'm happy that I got to spread around some love in my last post.  I'm not saying I will never blog here again.  I might give a monthly update or something just to let everyone know how we're doing.  I'm afraid that with no pictures, most of you will fall asleep reading.  We'll see.....

Love, Peace and Chicken Grease,

Apple Darling

Technical Difficulties

I'm afraid I have some bad news.....

Yesterday, right in the middle of my blog post, I went to upload my next photo and I got an error message.  It looked like this:

**Whoops! You're out of space. You are currently using 100% of your 1 GB quota for photos.

Photos are stored in your Picasa Web Albums account and are included in your 1 GB free quota for photos. Additional storage you purchase is shared between several Google products and is in addition to your free quota.**

Excuse me....What the fuck?????

I know...I know...I probably didn't read the fine print when I started my blog (where I'm sure this was stated) in fact I know I didn't.  But what?!  I looked into what Blogger was telling me.

If I want to blog with pictures, I have to get bigger storage.  (I didn't even realize that my photos were being stored somewhere - Supa had to explain to me last night what "upload" truly meant.)  If I want to have bigger storage, I have to PAY for it.  No way.  I blog for free, I blog in my own leisure time for fun and there is not way in fuck I'm going to start paying for it MONTHLY.  Nope.

I'm in the process right now of researching and trying to figure out another way to get my photos on my blog.  I can't even fathom a bloggy world with no pictures.  That just doesn't exist for me.

I give myself until Friday to come up with some miracle solution.  (Not a great time to break the news to be Blogger, fucking Christmas is coming!)

Either way, I'll blog by Friday and let everyone know what I have decided to do about all this.....

Not happy at all,  :(  :(  :(

PS, any and all suggestions would be highly appreciated.  Just leave them in the comments section...I'll check them all out!

I Already Wish It Was Friday.....

Monday came way too fast this week.  I was ready to sleep in and everything this morning when the alarm rudely went off and reminded me I had to go to work.  FML!

Friday:

I went straight to the pet place when I left work to pick up Odie.  He wasn't ready to be picked up.  WTF?!  He was there all day!!  They quickly explained to me that they do the biggest dogs first and the smallest dogs last.  (What the fuck?!  They could have told me that!  Odie only weighs 5 lbs. so that would make him dead last.  They told Supa that I could pick him up between 5:30 and 5:45 so I was super pissed.)  Since they said it was going to be another 40 minutes or so, I decided to go on home.

Supa made pot pies for dinner.  We ate dinner and then ran to pick Odie up.  They said he lost 6 teeth (either by pulling or falling out on their own).  They said that his tongue wouldn't hang out of his mouth (yet) because he still had a few teeth in the front but not many.  He was totally drunk and out of it when we picked him up.  He sure as hell couldn't walk.  He did look happy to see us, however.  LOL.

They did a good job.  His breath smells like...nothing....perfect!!

We took Odie home to take his medicine and rest.  Copper was really happy to see him!  :)

We decided to take the kids to Saluda Shoals (the local riverfront park) to see the huge light show they put on each year.  We didn't make it last year due to Supa's insane schedule but we have taken the kids previous years and really wanted to go back.

It cost $10 per car to ride through as many times as you want to.  (Totally worth it.)  They have their own radio station that plays Christmas music while you ride and see the lights.  They also have a few sections where the lights are shown dancing along to the beat of the Christmas song playing on the radio station.  SO COOL!!  We really enjoyed that part.

About mid-way through the park, you can get out of your car and partake in some additional activities (for a small fee per person of course).  We heard there was an inner tube slide and we were going to be on the lookout for that awesomeness!

I did my very best with the picture taking.  Supa even stopped the van a few places so I could get a decent shot.
It was drizzling when we first arrived.

Almost all the light scenes moved.
There was an entire section designed to support the troops.

We salute Aunt Darling with the Navy lights!!  She's Navy retired now.  :)

The photo does this no justice.

The statue was huge!
The butterfly garden was my favorite part, of course!  :)

The kids ooed and aahhed a great deal over the peacock.  It's tail lit up all different colors.

Pretty!!!
They even put lights on the bridge!

This was the view from under the bridge.

After we rode through the park once, we drove through again to find the extra activities.  It was time to get out of the van and see what other things we could get into.

We found the inner tube slide first!
This was where the inner tube ride was.  You can't see the actual tower or the inner tubes but Dazzle and Neon were just getting ready to slide down.

Dazzle and Neon slid down in the same inner tube.  (Doing everything together, as usual)  Supa and I stood in line with them and met them at the bottom of the slide.  It looked like so much fun and I'm pretty sure I heard Dazzle squeal like crazy on the way down.  The slope was decorated in lights and they got to slide under lights too.  I felt sorry for the guy that had to push start each inner tube down the hill.  His job looked tough.  LOL.

When we met the kids at the bottom, they were smiling their faces off and said that the slide was amazing and fast!  Dazzle didn't want to go again but Dazzle did and I had an extra ticket.....I volunteered to go with Neon.  :)  It.Was.Amazing!!  Best slide ever!  I'm pretty sure I saw the guys spray the underneath side of our inner tube with WD-40.  No wonder we went so fast!!  I screamed and held onto Neon for dear life.  What a blast.

When we finished riding the inner tubes, we were walking back towards the parking lot when we saw a hay ride that was just getting ready to start.  We flagged them down and hopped right on!

A man driving a tractor, pulled us on the hay ride around the riverfront.  We decided to get out at the stopping point, buy some hot chocolate and walk back to the van.

There was a little fire where you could roast marshmallows and warm up your hands.  Cute.

There were doors along the path that different schools and organizations made for the light show.  They were so cool and they had doorknobs!!  I didn't realize it at first but they were real doors.

I really enjoyed the walk we got to take together.  It was kind of creepy because it wasn't busy.
It was just Supa, Dazzle, Neon and I.  :)

Another bridge for us to walk under this time!!  SWEET!

Supa, Dazzle and Neon were leading the way to the van.
To be continued.......Technical difficulties!

Manic Friday...I Thought That Was for Monday's?

I'm feeling better.  Those antibiotics dried my face out and now I can breathe again.  I didn't ever have a fever and my throat doesn't hurt as much.  Whew!  That was a close one.  I'm glad that's over before it got nasty.

Yesterday I just kind of sat at my desk and tried to look like I was being productive.  I was pretty messed up on medicine but I did manage to paint my nails a new shade.  :)
This one is called "Refresh Mint".  Love it!
I was hoping that today would be a nice, quiet, calm day at work so I could work on Christmas stuff at my desk but I highly doubt I'll get that today.  Our plastics department debit/atm is down and was down last night.  The phone is going nuts and they can't even use the computer system to check people's cards.  Wonderful.  Just how I hoped my Friday WOULDN'T be.  I'm going to move forward with my day and try to pretend I'm not at work as much as possible.  Onward with Manic Friday.  I can take it!
SAID NO ONE EVER!  WTF?!
I'm thankful for having awesome things to look forward to and not having to work till 6 today, because 5:23 is bad enough!!

Last night, Supa and I took Dazzle and Neon to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.  YUMMMMMY!  We have the strangest conversations when we're all together and I never can quite figure out how they started to begin with.  LOL.  At one point in the evening Neon said, "This is so much fun!!".  It's times like that when I see a huge grin on the kids faces that I know we're doing something right.  We all had a blast.  Fun, fun stuff!

I decided I needed something hot on my sore throat so I had a little midnight snack...Sorry the lighting sucks, Supa was snoring on the love seat beside me and I didn't want to wake him up with turning the light on.
Hot chocolate, extra redi whip and the remote control.  Ahhhhh!!
This morning I got up and helped Neon dress like his Dad.  Today was super hero day at school and Neon wanted to dress like Supa since that's his hero.  He wore one of Supa's white dress shirts, his Looney Tunes tie and khaki pants just like his Dad does.  He looked SO cute and I hope he has a fun day!  *PIR - Check Facebook tonight for a photo.

Supa is off today (wahoo!!).  He took Odie to the pet place and dropped him off for his teeth cleaning!  I'm going to pick him up on my way home and I can't wait to see how many teeth he has left when they're finished.  LOL.  Poor old fella.  Copper was not happy about Supa taking Odie with him or me leaving him in the house all by himself.  I almost left the TV on for him and then realized how crazy that was.  I hope he enjoyed his alone time and wasn't too nervous.

Supa had an appointment this morning with his therapist and I can't wait to hear how that went.  He hasn't had any episodes lately and we have been doing much better.  I'm elated with the progress they are making together!!  When all the issues are resolved, it's going to be amazing to have a healthy, happy husband.

My sweet husband is also running errands and changing oil in both the vehicles today.  It's really nice that he is able to do that and I don't have to take them anywhere and PAY the ridiculous prices they want to charge....

ANYHOW, I'm out of time.  I'm swamped with work since the system is down today.  <SIGH>

I have cool plans for the weekend but I'll have to save that for Monday.  I hope everyone has a great Saturday and Sunday!!!

About to pull my hair out,

Apple

Useless

I'm pretty much useless today.  At least I feel that way.  I didn't sleep well at all and woke up in the middle of the night sick.  Sick as in, shit running down the back of my throat and nose all clogged up, sick.  I got up and started taking antibiotics immediately but it still will take a few days for me to start feeling better.  YUCK!  I can't believe I'm sick AGAIN!  I'm thankful that I had more spare antibiotics at the house so I didn't have to go to the doctor but damn....being sick, sucks.

I painted my nails the other day...yesterday maybe....I can't remember.  I do think it's my new favorite color:
Periwinkle!  I love it!!

I went home last night, made dinner (my Greek skillet that the kids LOVE), ate dinner with the kids, talked to them and got them situated and then I went over to Super and Patient's house.  Supa was still at work and I needed some me time.  Golly, I love those two girls!  I even got to see my four legged friends.  I was there for a little while not nearly as long as I would have liked to be there and then I headed home to see Supa.  Nearly Perfect showed up not too long after I got home.  We got to relax, hang out and watch two of my most favorite shows right now.  (Catfish and Teen Mom 2)  What a great evening with my people!

After Supa fell asleep on the couch and Nearly went home, I still had things to do.

I call this double dipping.
You know you've got a lot of shit going on when you're on the desktop computer and your iPad at the same time.  Sheesh!  I didn't get everything accomplished but I had to go to bed.  Oh, wells.  I tried.

Red sent me this one:

HAHA!!  Damn mother forklift!
Good one, Red!!!

Oh and BTW,

Did anyone realize that there are only 20 more days until Christmas?

Don't get me wrong, I love the Christmas season but DAMN I'm busy!  I don't have time to do anything and there is so much to accomplish.  I feel the same way this year that I feel every year:

--There is not enough time in each day.

--I'm not near finished shopping and the days are just sliding right on by.

--I want to buy everyone two of everything but that's not reasonable.

--I have to bake more stuff!!!

--Is it over yet?

I love/hate Christmas so much!  It's super exciting to do all these nice things for other people and I love watching the kids open their presents the stuff I hunted high and low for and spent a fortune on.  On the other hand, I can't wait for it to finally be over so I can go back to normal.

Bah-Humbug...Kind of.

LOL

Gotta go,

Apple

Pretty Quiet, Yet Awesome

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  As usual, mine was fabulous but not nearly long enough.  Supa had to work all weekend which was a bummer but he's off today so he gets to catch up on his rest and cook us dinner!

Saturday morning, the kids and I slept in until we damn well felt like getting up (9ish...).  Once we ate breakfast and got ourselves ready, we took Copper and Odie to the pet place (the same one where we always visit the puppies and kittens) to get their rabies shots.

This may sound like a simple task but Copper HATES riding in the car.  We're not really sure why but it is such a hassle.  He gets all freaked out, nervous and acts a fool.  I have to PUT him in the truck and he screams like a banshee during the entire ride.  Odie on the other hand sits pretty on the seat and angles his nose towards the cracked window.  He LOVES to go for a ride.

I managed to get Copper secured in the backseat with Neon while Odie rode in the front seat with Dazzle.  We made it to the pet place and it was a struggle to get Copper to walk inside.  He wanted to stop and sniff every 2 inches.  Dazzle just carried little 5 lb. Odie and once we made it in the door, it didn't take us too long to fill out the paperwork and go into the back room.

They give the dogs their shot in their right hind leg.  Odie didn't even flinch or squirm one bit.  He's an old fella so he doesn't really care what you do with or to him.

Copper on the other hand struggled and fought me like a champion.  I had to put him in a headlock and hold him with all my strength.  It was out of control.  By the time he got his shot, I was covered in dog hair and sweating like a pig.  Wonderful.  At least it only cost us a total of $10.  I got Odie a collar since he has never worn one (with the exception of a flea collar) and he looks so handsome wearing his new tags.

While we were at the counter paying for the shots and collar, I was talking to Dazzle about how Odie was getting his teeth cleaned (finally) on Monday when the cashier informed me that they clean teeth there now.  I asked how much they charge, $175.

WHAT?!

The vet was going to charge us $350!!!  I would much rather pay half price and have the money go towards our favorite pet place!!  I made an appointment on the spot.  (I called this morning and cancelled the vet appointment)  SO, Odie will be having his teeth cleaned this Friday and I'm so glad the cashier mentioned it to me!!  WIN!

We took the dogs home and left again to run errands:

--Sally's for nail polish.  Santa also bought me a new pair of earrings.  :)

The red ones are the new ones.  I love them!
--Food Lion to stock up on meat

--Lowe's for yard supplies.  I bought the first wheelbarrow we have ever owned.  I also bought 2 rakes (nope, we didn't own rakes either) and a box of yard bags.  I was pretty proud of my yard equipment purchase since that's usually Supa's department.

--Subway for lunch

--Bilo for Christmas stamps

Once we finally returned home, we ate our lunch and then it was time to head outside.  We had a few leaves to rake.  LOL!
Since we have that huge tree in the front yard, we have TONS of leaves all over the place.

I'm having fun with this photo editing program.

The photo above was when we first started raking.  The weather was beautiful, about 72 degrees.
This is Neon and he said the pile was getting pretty big!

It took us about 2 hours but we finally had them all in the middle of the yard.

Let the jumping begin!

Dazzle and Neon are in that big pile of leaves above somewhere.  I had to let the kids jump in the leaves after we worked so hard to gather them!
Dazzle, Neon, where are you?!

Haha, I said, "Hide your faces!" so they sunk down and showed their gloved hands instead.

I think this one is going on the wall.  I told them to throw the leaves in the air and smile at the same time.  I got some really great photos!  (Even with my shitty camera!)

After we raked the leaves all together and the kids jumped in them for a while, we put them in lawn bags (6 huge ones total) and went into the house to collapse.  My arms were on fire from all the raking.  The kids took turns raking and filling the wheelbarrow.  If I didn't have their help, I don't think I could have finished.  I was surprised but it was really fun!  (The kids even said they had fun)  I know we'll be raking together again in the future.  :)

The kids took showers and watched some TV while I took a little nap.  Dazzle woke me up (way sooner than I hoped she would) and said I needed to get up and get ready for my hot date ;)

Dazzle has been practicing her cooking skills at home and in Home Economics class at school.  She made macaroni and cheese with cut up hot dogs in it for dinner while I took a shower.  Neon ran back and forth from my bathroom to the kitchen when she had a question to ask me and he even got the laundry folded for me in between trips.

I got ready and when Supa came home, he took me to Best Buy so that we could buy ourselves something for Christmas.

Sound bar & sub woofer.
We have this big, beautiful TV but you can't hear a damn thing!  The speakers suck so we have been wanting to get something to boost our sound.  We had fun looking at all the different options together.  This system won because it was on sale and it's the same brand as our TV.  Of course, I had to wander over and check out the DVDs.  I ended up buying Bull Durham (I've never seen it before but I know it's about baseball) for my collection and I also bought Paranorman for the kids for Christmas.
I bought this one because it was one of my Grama's favorite movies so I need to see what was awesome about it.  I remember she had it on VHS.

This one is new and even Supa and I want to see it.

When we were finished shopping, Supa took me out to eat dinner at Applebees.  Our food was okay, not great but not terrible either.  The waitress was very standoffish and unfriendly.  Our last trip to Applebees (many years ago) was a huge disappointment so this was their one more chance to impress us.  We didn't really think the crappy service and just OK food was worth the money it cost us.  We were not overly impressed and probably won't go back.  However, we did have a great time talking, holding hands over the table and laughing our butts off.  :)

After Supa hooked up the new stereo equipment and we tried it out (fucking amazing and huge difference in sound) we had some cheesecake for our date dessert.
YUM!!!!
Sunday, the kids and I decided to stick close to the house and relax a bit.  We did bake 65 lemon cookies and 67 butter cookies as part of our Christmas baking.

They turned out perfectly soft and delicious.
We spent the afternoon ordering pictures (well, I did this anyways), downloading music, painting fingernails and we watched a movie together.  (Buffy The Vampire Slayer - the one with Luke Perry in it)  The kids loved the movie and I got to take a teeny tiny nap on the couch.  We went to the dumpster but didn't find any coupons (BOO-HISS!).

Before I knew it, Supa was home (YAY!) and we got to catch up on episodes of Survivor until we both fell asleep on the couch together.

Happy Monday!!
