Today is Day #3 of being a non-smoker and I'm having a hard time finding things to laugh about and if I don't perk up soon, I'm going to lose my job for being rude to people on the phone SO I hope everyone gets a laugh out of these. Thank you, J. Strawberry for sending me these funnies. You have no idea how much I needed them!
What a great photo!! Now we know what all the competition is about. LOL Those faces!!!
This is what BFF's are really made of!
HAHA! Perfect caption!
Now that we're older, please tell us which ones of those beeps were FUCK....LOL
omg, EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Bahaha!
No.Caption.Needed.
Because even on my best days, I might still be feeling too fat to go to work. :)
And these are from my boss:
I realize that this isn't a very funny picture except for the fact that every single time I look at it, I feel like the kitty is flipping me off. Or ABOUT to flip me off. HAHA!
This is my usual position when I wake up the mornings. LOL!
Tuesday has become my Monday for this week. I love having an extra day off but not for an unfortunate reason.
My kids were sick and that is truly every Mother's version of hell. Dazzle spent all day Sunday with a pounding headache matched with plenty of puking. She was still weak and needed to be pumped with toast and fluids before being released from my care to go back to school. Neon has been fighting what I thought was just a cold but his little cough wasn't getting better so off to the doctor we went. Sinus infection. I should have known. He is taking antibiotics and should be back to normal in no time. We are all back to school and work today and Supa is off. LOL, I love the irony in my life.
The weekend flew by shamelessly.
Friday night...well, hell, I think I just hung out with Supa and watched TV.
Saturday, Supa was off. Dazzle and I went and got our hair cut (my eyebrows waxed) and then we went to the pet shelter to get dog food for Copper play with the puppies (Let me tell you, they had about 20 puppies to be played with and there just wasn't enough time in the day - We could have stayed there for hours - I had to drag Dazzle away kicking and screaming not really but if she were a brat, it would have happened.)
I mean, who the fuckity fuck could resist these guys?!
Then we went back home, smelling of expensive hair products and shelter puppies, and picked the men up for lunch. We went to Palmetto Pig at Supa's request since he has missed out the past 2 times that we went without him. Neon of course had a Whopper value meal. :)
We didn't do much else the rest of the day. We laid around letting our pork settle and then I got on the treadmill for a ridiculously long amount of time (hence the pork-athon we competed in - if you ever don't feel like exercising, do it based on pork guilt - You will move your ass!).
Jade came over and hung out for a little bit. I made chicken and tuna salad for the week while she entertained me.
Sunday, I called Jade early and requested that she ride with me to run a couple of errands. Dazzle said she had a headache before I left so I gave her a Tylenol and ran out with Jade. We got cash, went by the flea market (no, the mother fucking movie guy wasn't there for the 3rd week in a row and I was SUPER pissed!! where are you movie guy?!), went to Walmart for about 3 things and then back home. Since Dazzle was sick, the rest of the day was uneventful. I watched Poltergeist with Neon (the movie of his choosing) and got on the treadmill after Dazzle finally took a break from puking to sleep.
I wasn't sure if he could handle it but we proceeded. He said he enjoyed it but it also scared the hell out of him.
Basically, nothing overly exciting happened all weekend. I'm almost glad to be back at work today - NOT SMOKING and not cleaning up puke and snot either ;)
I hope today flies by! We're taking the kids to San Jose for dinner YUM!
I've been kind of MIA lately and I must confess....It is because I fell off the wagon yet again and I smoked. I have been spending most of my free time reading my quit smoking book at my desk and I only have about 30 pages left to go. Supa and I are smoking our LAST cigarette on Sunday night and then we will be clean once again. I swear, this smoking shit will not be the death of me. I understand now that I'm a drug addict. I cannot have "just one" cigarette or Black & Mild or any other nicotine product. Damnit, I can't believe we started AGAIN!
No worries. We're ready. Ready to be free from the slavery of smoking yet AGAIN.
On a happier note, it is Friday! YAY! I don't have huge plans for this weekend....
Supa is off on Saturday, shocker! I'm taking Dazzle with me to get our hair cut first thing in the morning. Neon will stay home with his Daddy, probably playing some video game together that I don't approve of. LOL, boys.
Then we are probably going to take the kids somewhere to eat lunch and then hopefully stay home the rest of the day and just RELAX! I'm really looking forward to the RELAX part.
Sunday, I have absolutely no plans and I'm happy about that. If the weather is nice, I might convince the kids to go walk around the flea market with me. We'll see.
I have been on the treadmill every single day since last weekend when Supa helped me move the treadmill to the office. It really sucks that I'm trying to exercise and I can't breath from smoking. GRRRR!!! BUT I have lost 4 lbs. this week so far. :) I'm working on everything all at one time. I'm good under pressure ;)
I have to cut this short so I can finish up my very important book...
I hope everyone has a lovely smoke free weekend!!!
Just for fun, I thought I would be a little wacky today. I'm usually slightly very wacky so this shouldn't be a big change ;)
I'm rolling right out with the funnies.....
Thank you J. Strawberry! This is so me!! 9 times out of 10, if I'm home and texting you, I'm also taking a dump. :)
Multi-tasking at it's finest, baby!
Red Lady, I'm not so sure how the hell you did this but it's fucking awesome.
How the hell do you get 3 amazing fortunes from 3 different cookies all at the same time? I'm going to keep Red on my good side since all this fabulous shit is about to happen to her ;)
This one is from Super Bass. Thanks honey! This one really knocked me on my ass! Don't judge a book by it's cover!
The above really, really make me think. I have tattoos and I'm not a delinquent either! More power to the tatted people!
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Uncle Darling, this guy is definitely in trouble when he drops the soap.
Super Bass, I know you have some of this spray at your desk! I might have to come borrow some! :)
Let me explain this picture in more detail....
I was watching the season premier of Celebrity Apprentice yesterday. The men's team was trying to decide what their team name would be. Someone suggested they call themselves "The Honey Badgers" and I didn't even know what a honey badger was. Of course, I had to Google that right away.
A honey badger is the ugly ass animal in the picture above. It is the only known animal that kills other animals just for sport. Their skin is very thick and can only be penetrated with a high powered rifle. They have long, crazy necks and can almost completely reach around itself to bite the shit out of you. These animals have poison in their anus so does Supa but what of it?! They find a bee hive, spray the poison out of their ass onto the bee hive, and then the bees run for their lives. Perfect! The honey badger gets to eat an entire hive full of honey.
This animal has also been known to attack animals much larger than itself. That scares me. I hope I never see one of these in the wild. I would have to opt for running.
Two quick questions to ponder:
How the hell have I never heard of this animal ever existing??
How the hell is this animal going to have such a sweet name as Honey Badger and then be a psycho, flesh eating beast?
Now that I've freaked myself out of ever leaving my house again, let's move forward...
One of my worky friends sent me this video and when I watched it, it was nothing that I expected and it made me laugh until I cried. Obviously, I had to share:
I am so in love with this guy now! I'm already planning on watching all his other videos today when I am done blogging finish my work. He is just lovely!! His personality kills me and I strive to be more like him.
That's all, folks!
Supa is taking me to lunch today and I'm starving!!! I'm going to get ready to go and I will talk to ya'll tomorrow!!! :)
This past weekend was just lovely. I have a bunch of stuff to do today so I'm going to try to keep this short.
Friday night, Jade, Cat Mama, Bean and Nearly came over. We all hung out and just laughed and talked. Supa was home from work and we just had a nice time. I was so ready to relax!
Saturday, I got up and went and got my nails filled. I like to be creative so....
Because to me, normal is boring. Red and black baby!
The girl, whose name I learned was Ying, did a great job, got a nice tip and will be doing my nails next time. She took her time and she said doing nails to her was like art. That made me very happy.
I went back to the house. Jade, Cat Mama and Bean came over. We fooled around for a little while and then we took all the kids to lunch, Bellacino's for pizza and grinders. That was fun. Then we made our way to The Shoe Department to look for shoes for all the kids. Dazzle found a pair of boots on sale for $15.00 so we grabbed them up. (AGAIN, I forget to take a picture) They're black velvet, long enough to almost reach her knees, zip all the way up the side and have zebra print on the inside. I must say I was slightly jealous. These are some hot boots! I don't think she's taken them off yet, only to shower and sleep. LOL. Jade found Cat a pair of boots there so the trip was a win.
Of course the boys shoe section left much to be desired so we ended up going to Rack Room Shoes to look for Neon some tennis shoes. There we found Bean a pair of tennis shoes and Neon a pair also. They had a "buy one get one 1/2 off" sale going on so we paid half and half so we could get our discount. Smart girls, yes, I know. :)
After shoe shopping, I was ready to go home and relax. Jade had a few more errands to run so she took Bean with her and I took Cat with us and home we went.
I got the kids settled and laid on the couch for a little while and took a tiny nap. Then it was time to get back up and cook some dinner.
After dinner, I went and picked up Jade and brought her over to the house. Supa was home by then and he decided he was going to go to Jade's house to play video games with her husband. Jade and I decided it was going to be a drinking kind of night! (Side note: I don't drink very often at all but sometimes, the day calls for drinks!) So, while the kids were off in Dazzle and Neon's rooms playing and doing kid things, Jade and I had a few drinks. Well, let's just say quite a few. We planned on it. That's why I went and picked her up. Supa got home several hours later and he took Jade home for us (he didn't have a drop to drink). People who drink and drive are LOSERS! It was a really fun night full of drunken laughter. :O
Sunday morning, I woke up with no hangover. Thank you baby Jesus. It was raining so we couldn't go by the flea market. BOO. But Supa and I did go to K-mart to get him some new work shoes. He took me by Arby's for a snack and then it was time to go back home.
It was rainy and gross all day long.
Supa helped me put some stuff in storage and we moved the treadmill out of our bedroom and into the office so that I can wheel it into the living room and walk while watching TV. It worked perfectly and we didn't even have to move furniture too much, just from one side of the room to the other.
We all hung out in the living room and watched Breaking Dawn. (Supa hadn't been able to watch it at home yet and you know we were game to watch it again..... and again, and again, and again.
We took the kids to eat seafood at a restaurant we had never tried before. It was called Harbor Inn Seafood. It was really yummy and not over priced. We had a great dinner together. Dazzle loves seafood so she ate a bunch of shrimp. Neon had a hamburger. ;)
When we got home, I let my stomach settle for a little while and then it was TREADMILL TIME! :) Since I was in the living room, watching TV and hanging out with my family, it was easy to say on there for 1 hr. 36 mins. Fun even. I think I fell asleep on the couch at some point after the kids climbed into their beds and then somehow Supa got me into our bed but really, I don't remember. I was pretty tired.
Monday, we got up at our leisure (that was nice as hell). Supa was working all day so Neon and I took Dazzle to the pediatrician's office for her well check up. She's perfect (well, we already knew that!) and 5 feet tall!!! Whoa! I'm 5 feet 9 1/2 inches! She's catching up to me really quick!
We went home, had some lunch and Nearly came over. The kids just wanted to stay home so Nearly and I ran to Goodwill (mega 1/2 off Presidents Day sale) and got a bunch of great stuff. My entire bag of clothes (mostly for the kids but a few things for me) cost $21.00. You really can't beat that! After we stopped for fried pickles (wow, those are good!), we went back home and baked our butts off with the kids. We made cupcakes (for absolutely no damn reason except to eat them) and brownies. It was a good time.
Nearly went home, we had dinner (tuna casserole) and then Supa came home. When he got there, I was on the treadmill - another hour logged for the week. I kind of stayed up too late because I was in total denial that Tuesday morning was coming. BOOOO!!!! But here I sit. Getting up and coming to work is never as bad as you make it out to be. It was hard after being off for an extra day though. At least this week will be a short one!
I have some funnies saved up for tomorrow's post. Have a super Tuesday, people!!
I don't really understand myself sometimes....I am so excited that it's a 3 day weekend but I can't stand the Friday before. I'm sitting here at my desk, barely awake at 9:19 AM wishing like hell it was 5:23 already. I should just be hella thankful that I'm off on Monday (Presidents Day) but all I can do is wish today away! Oh geez! I hope I can just convince myself that 5:23 will be here soon enough and enjoy my day. (I know I'm crazy!) I'm just so ready for this weekend.
This week at work has kinda sucked and then again, it's been kind of awesome. It's been slow as hell and in one way, that's great. I get to catch up on my TV, paint my toenails and whatever else I want to do at my desk. On the other hand, it makes the time DRAG by. This has felt like the longest work week ever!
I went after work yesterday and got Supa a Kindle Fire as a surprise. He has been wanting some type of tablet for awhile now so I figured he would love that. I put it on the bathroom counter so that when he got home from work and went to change his clothes he would be super surprised. And he was! I'm so glad we could do that for him. He deserved a toy for all his hard work! :)
Nearly is coming over tonight to hang out with Supa and I. That should be a good time.
Saturday morning, Supa will be working all day and I have an appointment to go get my nails filled. The kids already announced they don't want to go so they will be at the house doing the usual. Then I'm going to get them, possibly picking up Cat Mama and taking the kids to lunch. After lunch we are off on a shoe mission. Neon needs new tennis shoes and Dazzle needs new boots. (I don't know if NEED is the right word but the boots she has are kinda wearing out on her so we'll get her some - she wears them all the time) After that, I'm wide open :) No other plans for the day. I might just take the kids home and find something to do there or we might end up doing more shopping. Who knows!?!
Cat Mama is spending the night with the kids Saturday night and Supa and I will probably just watch a movie or something.
Sunday, Supa is off! Wow!! At first, we were going to take the kids out and do something fun but we've been doing that a lot lately. Instead, we are just going to have a stay at home kind of day. We're going to run to the flea market together and see what the movie guy has to offer. Then we're going to rearrange our office so that we can move my treadmill in there. Honestly, I haven't been using the treadmill lately. The main reason is that our TV in the bedroom died and I really want to get a new one but not right this minute. SO, I need to be in the living room (where the giant TV is) on the treadmill so I don't die of boredom. :) If we put it in the office, I can just wheel it on into the living room and get my buns moving! We are taking the kids out to dinner Sunday afternoon but besides that, I'm hoping to relax a good bit.
Monday, Supa is again working all day. Dazzle has a well check up at our pediatrician's office that I have to take her to. I'm leaving the rest of the day open for whatever else we may need to get done before we're back to reality on Tuesday. Reality, yuck. LOL
I decided that I needed something concrete to do at work today so that I don't get sleepy so I brought this:
These are all the family pictures (old as hell - most of the packages are from the 80's) that Supa's Mom gave to me years ago and I haven't had time to really go through them well. Today, hopefully, is that day. I'm going to separate, organize and try to decide who is who so that I can get them in frames or photo books. Good luck to me!
I'm so very sad that Whiney Houston died commited suicide. It just seems like such a complete waste of wondeful talent taken from the world by drugs and addiction. Things like this make me wish there were no drugs (bad ones anyhow) on the planet so that everyone that gets addicted would be safe.
This is not the Whitney Houston I grew up with. That's for damn sure.
Did you know that Kevin Costner is the person that suggested Whitney sing "I Will Always Love You?" I just realized that when I saw an interview of Whitney explaining how the Bodyguard came about. I'm going to watch the Bodyguard this weekend. Somehow, I feel like that is a good way to honor her. Those were the good old days.
OMG, this picture almost made me cry. This is how she was supposed to be! Sniff sniff!!
I also think it's a crying shame that everyone "misses" her so much now. She's been GONE for a long, long time! It's just that now she's dead instead of holed up somewhere on drugs. I have been missing her for a long time. I wasn't shocked to hear that she had passed, but very not happy. I was hoping that she was goigng to be okay and come back to the world, hopefully at some point clean and ready to wow us again. Unfortunately, it is too late for that.
What a waste of what could have been an amazing life.
Bobby Brown, he should be really proud of himself. I just swear this is all his fault. Isn't it him that got her hooked on drugs to begin with?? How sad.
Love & Drugs just don't go together. There is no love with drugs. Why didn't they get clean together???
Okay, that is the extent of my mourning. I'm sad but what can you do???
PS, I did watch the Grammy's with Supa and even though I'm not a HUGE Jennifer Hudson fan, I think she did very well honoring Whitney.
Nothing too exciting is going on. I usually coupon on my lunch break today (Wednesday's normal excitement) but Supa is off today and is coming to get me and take me to lunch. YAY! I'm pretty happy about that. I only saw him yesterday for a grand total of 15 minutes. Yuck!
Work is slow today and I've already looked at all the sales ads and coupons I have. (Hello V-8 juice for .60 cents a bottle - thank you Uncle Darling - I don't drink it but Supa does!) Supa will take me to Bilo after dinner tonight and then I'll just run to Publix on my lunch break tomorrow, I guess. I'm not passing up lunch with Supa for anything!
Besides that...well, my grand plan is to watch TV all day long at my desk. That makes for a very enjoyable day, the time just flies by.
I made the title a question because everyone is telling me Happy Valentine's Day but it feels like a normal day to me since we celebrated on Saturday. :) Regardless, I do hope that everyone has a very special Valentine's Day with their loved ones!!
There is nothing new going on today. Supa got off late last night and we just ended up watching half of the Grammy's that I recorded from this past weekend. What a show! I can't wait to finish watching it. Supa has to close down his grind tonight so I will be going it alone. Sloppy Joe's for dinner and then relaxation time!
I've been meaning to talk about this but I keep forgetting, so here goes...
A few weeks ago, Nearly Perfect was telling me about how she saw somewhere on TV about people living in other people's attics and they didn't even know about it. The person would come out of the attic while the homeowner was asleep or at work and eat their food and whatever. HOLY FUCKING SHIT. That is scary as hell!!
And guess what we have?
AN ATTIC
Wonderful, thanks for that Nearly. After you told us that story, I decided I hated my attic (that I previously loved) and wish I didn't have one. I constantly looked at the door in the ceiling with great disdain.
Supa assured me that it would be very hard to get into our attic without us knowing it and that I shouldn't be worried about it. He even went into the attic to put something up there and promised me that he checked for creepers. None found. Then, the feelings of paranoia went away mostly (but not forgotten).
Saturday night, when we got home from our double date, Nearly said, "OMG, you have to come see this video on youtube." Oh, great fuckity. Yep, guess what the video was?
Holy cock and balls. That was creepy as shit?! Am I right?! AND the paranoia starts again.
Supa promised me that we always keep our windows and doors locked and there is no outside access to our attic from the outside so we are safe from the attic creepers. I'm still creeped out.
There was a discussion online about how this video is not real but I really believe that it is. This has happened to people before.
I hope I didn't freak anyone out too bad with this video...And that you don't have an attic! Squeeeee!
Now that I've gotten that off my chest freaked everyone out in the process, on to some funnies!!
Haha! Kitty has a cold booty!
Sure you can, freaky fang cat. :) I bet Catherine Hardwicke could have stuck you in that first movie somewhere!
Again, the face is killing me!!! LOL!
Thank you, Uncle Darling for the funnies for today! They crack me up!
This past weekend was wonderful. Exactly how I hoped it would turn out. :)
Supa already told me that he really needed to give me my Valentine's present on Friday after work because he just couldn't wait until Saturday. OK....
So, when I got home on Friday, there was a beautiful bouquet of 12 white roses and mixed flowers waiting on me!
Awww! So pretty!
The best part was the fact that he didn't buy a damn vase when we have about 20 at the house. He brought the flowers home, arranged them in one of our vases and he made the bow himself out of streamers. :) What a sweet honey!! I love them!!
I thought that was my surprise! Nope, I walk into my closet to change and I see this hanging there:
What? Is that for ME??!! :)
I waited until after we had dinner to open it and here was what was inside:
**A beautiful card with a book written inside in Supa's best handwriting ;) It almost made me cry!
**A solid chocolate heart (because he knows that at times I NEED chocolate)
**A box of assorted chocolate candies I'm sure he got these so I can bite one and not like it, therefore, he gets to eat my rejects :)
**A box of my favorite candy of all time, Andes mints
Good job, Supa!!! You always know how to rock my world! I love you!!
He told me not to get him anything (he thinks this is supposed to be a woman's day) but I couldn't go out like that. SO I got him this:
If you want your husband to love you, just get him XBOX live points. :)
We got each of the kids a card and a candy bar. Just so they could open something with us. They already knew their Vday treat was coming on Saturday. Saturday morning we did get up super early and go to my job's annual meeting/breakfast. Dazzle and Neon stayed home in the warm house playing video games. (How I think Supa longed to stay with them....)
We got to the meeting and Nearly and Lolly were there waiting on us. We went inside and signed in. As we were walking to the big room to find a table, one of the people at the door said, "Wait! Your husband is a member so he gets a raffle ticket! Don't forget your ticket, you might win!" (Haha, fat chance lady, we never win anything but we'll take one anyhow)
We got a table way in the corner of the room. PERFECT! We mingled for a little while, kissing and hugging my friends that work at other branches. I even got to meet one person that I'm friends with over email and phone but we've never seen each other in person. That was a fun time!
We definitely ate enough free breakfast ;) They had a good bit of food and it was really yummy!!
Then the meeting started. I tried not to snore too loud and I had to poke Supa to keep him from misbehaving. I mostly just looked around the room for more friends :) Then the raffle started. This year they just gave away cold, hard cash. Employee's were not eligible to participate in the raffle so it was all on Supa to win!
They gave away some $20.00 prizes, didn't call our number......
They gave away some $50.00 prizes, still didn't call our number......
They gave away some $100.00 prizes, AND THEY CALLED OUR NUMBER!!!!
I had the ticket in my hand, paying attention to the numbers and when they called our number I shoved the ticket at Supa and said, "I can't win! But you won!!" Then our whole table started screaming! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!
NO WAY!!! $100.00 smack-a-roos!! Thank you to my wonderful place of employment!! We sure weren't expecting that!!
We left the meeting with big smiles on our faces and homeward bound we went!
We hung out at the house for a little while and made the kids lunch. (We sure weren't hungry) Then we were off to Target to get BREAKING DAWN! YAY! I got the collectors edition and I was so excited to finally have it in my possession!
<Insert awesome picture here, fuck I am so bad about taking pictures!>
We left Target and went to the mall. I was expecting Build A Bear to be slammed but they actually weren't that busy. I think there were 2 people ahead of us. We had fun with the kids and that's what it's all about!
Dazzle picked out a puppy with brown and white spots and named him Edward Fudge DeLarye :) She got him a skeleton hoodie and he looks really sharp.
Neon picked out a German Shepard. He also got the puppy to go with it that magnetically hangs from his mouth (too cute) and a camouflage hardhat. :) For some reason, he must be planning on putting is pup to work.
We had a blast and got some cute gift ideas just by looking around. Then we mosied on over to Aeropostale because Dazzle really needed a new hoodie. We found her one on sale and that mission was accomplished!
I love seeing what she likes the most and picks out on her own. She usually does a pretty good job.
We headed back home and I got to take a little, tiny nap. Then it was time to get up and get ready for Nearly to come over! Yep! She felt much better and decided she could still come hang out with the kids.
I had perfect timing and I was ready to go when Nearly arrived. We ran to Subway together to get their dinner:
All 3 of them wanted BLT's hold the "T" :) So that's what they got!!
Then Nearly and I ran to the store so that I could get Jade some Valentine's day flowers to go with the card that I got her. :) I knew she would love that and she's my Valentine too!
We hurried back home so I could arrange Jade's bouquet and she was pretty surprised when she got there and saw this:
I hope you loved your flowers Jade because I love you!!
We hung out with Nearly for a little while and then it was time to leave for dinner!! We arrived right on time for our 6:30PM reservation. We looked everywhere for a parking spot but we were downtown on a Saturday night SO there was nowhere to park! We decided to take advantage of the restaurant's complimentary valet parking. That was the first time Supa or I had ever valet parked our vehicle. It was interesting. They even opened the car door for me! ;)
The restaurant (Cowboys Brazilian Steakhouse) was absolutely amazing. The buffet with the side items on it included some strange things I had never tried before. I should have taken pictures. I really felt like I was on Top Chef eating fine dining like a rich person! We were joking around and saying that this was the rich people's Ryan's. LOL
We had prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, some really great chicken salad, blue cheese, fresh Parmesan, a variety of olives and cold cuts...It was soooo good!
This was my plate after I left the buffet.
Then they also bring to your table, a never ending plate of fried bananas and fried polenta. I had never had polenta before and it is my new favorite! I don't even know what polenta is but I know now that it is GOOOD!
The fried bananas were ok...but the polenta...wow.
Then the men started coming around with the meat. I had only like 2 pieces of meat put on my plate. The entire rest of the meal, I just ate meat off of Supa and Jade's plates because I wanted to just have a bite of everything so I could taste it all. They were feeding me meat the entire time! LOL When we were finished stuffed until puking was actually an option we joked that we had officially been eating meat for 1 1/2 hours. We had to get our money's worth! That dinner for 2 cost us $76.00!! LOL! Talk about feeling like a queen!! What a fabulous meal!! We will definitely be going back again!
We left dinner and drove just a little way down the road to Wet Willies. For anyone that's not from here, Wet Willies is a bar that serves alcoholic slushies. OH YUM! I got a large mudslide and Supa got a small slushie called "Call A Cab". He knew he could have one drink and drive us home safely. WELL APPARENTLY NOT if you're drinking Call A Cab. He drank about 1/4 of the little glass and his cheeks got pink! He said, that's plenty for me! Jade and I drank our wonderful chocolate slushies and then had to drink Supa's! We got 2 straws and got the job done! We were having a hell of a time getting those thick slushies down when we were SOOOO full! LOL! But there was no way in hell I was paying $15.00 for two slushies (holy shit) and throwing some away! No way!
Needless to say, Jade and I were singing our asses off in the truck on the way home. Little tipsy much? :)
We went home, hung out for a bit and then passed out! We were so tired. What a wonderful, very memorable Valentine's day!
Sunday, we just hung out in our PJ's and relaxed. Supa was at work of course so we found some stuff to keep us busy. We baked banana muffins, baked a red velvet cake, make pasta salad and chicken salad for the week and watched BREAKING DAWN! We also watched the second disk of extras and it was SOOOO good!
HOW THE FUCK AM I GOING TO BE ITALIAN AND NOT KNOW WHAT POLENTA IS?!?! Now I feel like a complete fraud! LOL, and let me tell you, when you fry it, it's no longer mush. It's heaven!!!
I'm so excited for this weekend! We are celebrating Vday on Saturday since Supa is OFF and he has to work 12-whenever on actual Vday. We've got some plans I'm pretty happy about.
Saturday morning, we have to go to my job's annual meeting. OH JOY! That means, get up early on my fucking day off?!, dress up FML!, and leave the kids at the house to play video games in their pj's I wish I could join them. The meeting is way across town near where Supa works. We're meeting Lolly (and probably Nearly too) in the parking lot and going inside to eat our breakfast and get an awesome table because I'm not spending my Saturday morning sitting with people I can't stand and then after breakfast, the meeting part will start. Hopefully they won't talk for too long and we can be done! The ONLY reason I'm excited to go besides the wonder that is free breakfast is so that I can see all my worky friends that I don't get to see everyday.
I WISH! Don't hold your breath.
After the meeting is over, Supa and I are going to go home, have some lunch with the kids and then we are OFF to Target to buy BREAKING DAWN!!! I'm so excited!! Supa wants to get a new mop because in order to clean (UM YAY HELLO!) he needs the proper equipment :)
Then we are taking the kids to Build A Bear for their Valentines Day surprise. We gave them plenty of options and that is what they decided they wanted to do. We'll probably walk around the mall for bit and hopefully not get into too much mischief. LOL
Have you ever been there? It's fun even for adults. :)
We'll probably head home after that so that I can get some rest time in before....
DINNER! YAY! Nearly was going to come over and hang out at the house with the kids (they really don't need a babysitter but some company would be nice) while Supa, Jade, her husband and I went to dinner but Nearly is sick! So, the kids said they didn't mind staying home and entertaining themselves so we could still go on our Vday double date.
We're going to a restaurant called: Cowboy's Brazilian Steakhouse
We've never been there before but Jade went there for her company's Christmas party and she said it was off the chain!! It's basically like an all you can eat steak place. They have a buffet for your side items. Salad, mash and gravy, whatever.....
Yum! I love buffets!
Then for the main course, they have these people who walk around with meat on huge skewers and come to the table to see if you want some of what they've got. WHAT?! That sounds like plan to me!!!
Wow. That looks wonderful!
Here's their meat list:
Beef Ribs
Beef Tenderloin
Brazilian Pork Sausage “Linguica”
Chicken Drumstick
Chicken Wrapped in Bacon
Fillet Mignon
Fillet Mignon Wrapped in Bacon
Flank Steak
Garlic Steak
House Special “Picanha”
Lamb Chops
Lamb Loin
Leg of Lamb
Pork Loin
Pork Parmesan
Top Loin
Um, hello! Yes! It's kind of pricey. $30.00 per person but it's Valentine's Day! So we are having an extra special treat together! The kids want Subway for their supper ;)
After we finish up with dinner, we did have plans to go to Wet Willies. We've never been there but I really want to try their "special slushies". I'm thinking we probably won't end up going now since the kids will be home alone and I don't want them to be there too late by themselves. We may just go back home and hang out. I'm sure our tummies will be extra super full and need resting time anyhow. Haha!
Sunday, Supa has to work all day so I'm not sure what the kids and I will be doing. I promised Neon I would make him a red velvet cake so I'm going to work on that and he has to make his class their Valentines cards. Besides that, no clue.
Welcome back to another edition of "Download This". I hope everyone is well today and ready for some good music ideas good to me at least.
#1: No, No, No Part II By: Destiny's Child
I have a good bit of Destiny's Child songs on my iPod but somehow this one got looked over. (I'm not that fond of Part I but Part II is sweet!)
#2: Glad You Came By: The Wanted
This is a new band that originated in Britain. They made their way to the states and I have a feeling this 5 man band is going to have good things for us in the future. Keep your ears open for these guys!
I came across The Wanted singing on Live With Ryan Seacrest and I thought that was pretty cool too! (Plus I LOVE Ryan!!!)
#3: He Wasn't Man Enough By: Toni Braxton
We've all heard the hits by Toni Braxton but I don't think this song was a popular as her other big hits. It's one of my favorites....This is Toni performing the song on Jay Leno in 2000.
#4: Stronger By: Kelly Clarkson:
I have been loving Kelly Clarkson since the first season of American Idol! She just keeps getting better and better. Her new hit, "Stronger", is really good!! DO IT, Kelly!!!
#5: Boogie Shoes By: KC & The Sunshine Band
Dazzle is taking dance this semester at school. She LOVES it and is having lots of fun learning new dance styles and jazz routines (for the moment). She has to perform a number with a group of students next week and she asked me if I would download the song they were using so that she could practice. She couldn't remember what the song was and since my brain is at least 70% song lyrics, it only took me a few seconds to sing it to her and of course I was right :) She originally said she thought it was called Boogie Feet...LOL so I just sang what I thought it might be (Boogie Shoes) and she was so excited that I got it right, without Google and on the first try. GO MOM! LOL, at least I'm good for something!
Thank you Pinterest!!
Sorry about the shitty video quality. This was from 1974. :P
The day that we've all been waiting for is almost here!!! The most important DVD release of the year is finally upon us. Breaking Dawn Part 1 will be available for purchase this Saturday!! I have pre-ordered the other movies in the series in the past but I'm just going to walk into Target and buy one this year. (I'm sure they will have a million copies ready to sell) I'm sick of the whole world enjoying the movie before mine is even delivered to my house. How stupid. No waiting for me this time!!
I just can't wait to watch it over and over and over again!! Supa is ready to see it again too !! WOOT WOOT!!
This is my 100th blog post. Yep, that's right! I really can't believe it! I was going to try to come up with an awesome top 100 whatever list for this post but I couldn't really find the time to come up with a list of 100 anything.....LOL. I think I'll just go with a round of applause and keep on typing....
<Round of applause!!!>
Okay, back to business as usual.....
I saw this picture on Facebook that one of my high school buddies posted and I couldn't not share....
Oh hells no!!
If I came across a trailer in the middle of the road on my way to work (or anywhere else for that matter) I would be pretty pissed. I feel that this is worse than a train. BUT here in the South, I have seen many a trailer in the middle of the fucking road. Houses on wheels, baby! Aunt Darling submitted these next two cute ones....
And if you don't like it, kiss my ass! LOL Whoever took this picture was right on time!!
Just try not to sit on the person's face. LOL In any other case, that might cause them to become angrier.
That's all the funnies I have for today, folks. AND there is nothing really exciting going on in my life right this second so I decided it's time for a blast from the past......
Who's ready for story time boys and girls???? teehee!!
Okay so a long time ago, when I was about 13 or 14, my Mom let me go spend the night with my friend Manipulation (yes, I know that is a terrible name for a person but she was a master manipulator or so she thought she was and we're not friends anymore for that very reason so....who gives a damn right? She's lucky I'm not using her real name bitch) I was feeling a little under the weather....Runny nose and what not but I wasn't SICK so I decided I could still go hang out.
I had been friends with Manipulation since I was about 10 and I was at her house/she was at my house all the damn time. We were at her house, perfectly safe and happy, when she said she was going to ask her Mom if we could go spend the night with her Aunt Netty in O'Burg. Well, at this point in my teens I was up for anything so I was like cool. I think I called and told my Mom that her Mom was taking us over there and she didn't care....But I really can't remember if I even told my Mom we were going. This was before I ever had a cell phone so....who knows....
I mean, if you were rich, you had one of these ancient Motorola bag/car phones. They were huge! We didn't have one and I wouldn't get a cell phone as we know it today until many years later.
So, Manipulator's Mom took us to Netty's house and dropped us off for the night. This was the first time I had met her Aunt Netty and she seemed kind of strange. She lived in a pretty nice neighborhood, in a cute little house and I remember it was Christmas time so she had the tree up and the house decorated. She also had her Mom living with her and she seemed like a crazy old bat. She stayed in her room all the time and every now and then she would wander down the hall with this totally blank stare in her eyes. It really creeped my 13-14 year old self out. I just stayed away from her.
Netty also had a son that was about 6 or 7 at the time and he was Autistic.
**HUGE SIDE NOTE** Now, I know this sounds so insane and most people do not understand where I am coming from but I am totally scared of people with mental disabilities. People with Down Syndrome, Autism, just all people that have a mental handicap scare the fuck out of me and always have. I didn't know why I had this fear for a really long time but now I think I understand it better. They are totally unpredictable. You never know what they are going to do or say. That scares me. I am never mean or rude to a person with disabilities but I stay as far away from them as possible. It's a real fear. Like I'm afraid of spiders....AND mentally disabled people. When they approach me in public, I just shut down. I crawl inside myself and become completely unresponsive and freaked out. Shit. I have talked to God about this and he has promised to not hold it against me. It takes a special kind of person to help those special kind of people and I'm just not special in that area. My intent isn't bad. I just can't shake my fear.
**END SIDE NOTE**
The scariest place on earth to me....The Special Olympics!
I don't think my friend knew about this intense fear that I have because I don't usually tell people about it. 9 times out of 10, they don't understand. Now, to me for some reason, kids with mental disabilities are less scary than adults to me. Don't ask me why. If she would have told me this before we went over there, I wouldn't have went. Just being honest. But since he was a little guy, I was less afraid. What I didn't know was that he had severe autism. He was the kid that ran up and jumped in your lap and put you in a headlock because his Mom let him watch wrestling. He was also the kid that (if you left him unattended for too long) would go poop in his pants and then paint the walls with his poop. I sat around in fear for a few hours getting to know this family.
Aunt Netty had other problems as well. One of them was the fact that she weighed around 450 lbs. She had some serious health issues and I couldn't figure out how she was taking care of her elderly mother crazy old loon and her autistic son, as well as herself. The fact that she could barely get off the couch and walk to the kitchen was very alarming to me.
So, as the night wore on, Manipulator ended up calling her cousin Nicey (the girl was really nice, what can I say??) and she decided to come over. (I knew Nicey and she had been friends with all of us since I was about 10 too so I was glad to see her)
Then when she got there somehow we ended up on the phone with a cute boy that Manipulator liked. Nicey and I on one phone and Manipulator on the extension. It didn't take long for said cute boy to invite us all over to his house. We could spend the night, he said. His Mom was fine with it....
We had to get ready, makeup, hair, the whole nine. Then Manipulator somehow convinced Aunt Netty to take us over there and drop us off. By the time we got there (way across town but still in O'Burg) it was probably 11 PM. Too late (in my opinion now) for a 13-14 year old to be out.
The three of us, plus cute guy, just sat in the living room and watched a movie. Nothing bad happened and I ended up falling asleep on the floor. I never saw an adult and I wondered for a moment where his Mom was. Oh wells....<snore snore, I had no problem passing out on a strangers floor> I swear, kids this age don't have a care in the world.
The next thing I know, I am being woken up by an old Chinese lady with a cane. She's standing over me pounding the floor with her cane about 3 inches from my face screaming, "Who are you? Wake up! Get out of my house!!" At that moment, I spring off of the floor, grab my coat and go stand by the front door, kind of huddling in the corner. Manipulator and Nicey wake up at this point and join me by the door. The Chinese woman is still screaming and Mr. Cute Guy is nowhere to be seen. I figured at this point he was probably back in his bedroom sleeping soundly.
She kind of looked like this sort of crazy except older and with a big threatening cane.
So we did what any scared 13-14 year olds do. We left. We turned around and walked right out the front door.
Let's back track just for a second, shall we? We arrive at crazy Chinese lady's house around 11PM or so. It's dark and I don't notice a single thing. Now that it's light outside I notice quite a lot.
**We're in some trashy ass trailer park in the middle of O'Burg and I'm not really sure where exactly we are
**We're standing in a really nasty front yard and at that point I wonder how clean the floor was that I was just sleeping on
**It's cold as fuck outside and I don't know where home is from the deep depths of hell in which I'm standing
With that being said, I look at my two co-idiots and they look as helpless and useless as I feel. We need to figure out what the fuck we're going to do.....
I look at my watch.
It's only 6:15 AM.
I notice some immediate needs that must be met soon.
**I have to pee
**I'm kinda hungry
**Where the fuck are we?
**I really need to pee
Manipulator says, "Let's start walking and try to find the front of this trailer park so we know what trailer park we're in and/or what road we're on. Maybe we can just walk home"
Well, okay genius. When we were DRIVEN over here last night, it took about 25 minutes to get there so I doubt walking is going to be an option.
We walk to the front of the trailer park (I can't even remember the name of it now) and Manipulator exclaims, "I have a friend who lives in this trailer park!! Let's go ask if we can use her phone!" Perfect. Crisis over, right?
We walk to the friend's house and Manipulator decides since it's 6:30 AM she should just knock on this girl's bedroom window because she would be in her bed and her parents know this girls parents and she shouldn't just knock on the door and get us all into trouble. She knocks about 15 times on the girl's window and finally she gets up and looks out. She is clearly out of it and totally asleep. Manipulator explains through the closed window that we are stranded, in trouble and need to please, please use her cordless phone. The bitch says, "I'm sleeping! Go away!" and closes the blinds. I'm standing there at this point in complete shock. Oh, yeah, great friend you got there!
I never reveal people's real names on my blog because I talk a whole lot of shit and I think that everyone deserves their privacy. Well, guess what? This bitch didn't deserve anything except a swift ass kicking. Her name was APRIL. (And if I could remember her last name, I would post that too) April, if you are reading this...you could have helped us. We would have let you go right back to sleep, I promise. Karma is a bitch. Nuff said.
If I did have a gun (because tons of middle class white 13-14 year olds have them I'm sure right?) this is what she would have seen when she looked out the blinds. I was soooooo pissed at her non-helping!!!
We give up and have no idea what else to do so we head for the main road.
My nose is all runny because remember, I'm a little sick. I'm guessing it's about 40 degrees outside at this point and my Charlotte Hornets Starter jacket just isn't cutting it.
We get to the main road and decide to just start walking. Eventually we would come to a gas station or possibly a pay phone. After walking for about 10 minutes, we do come to a gas station. We rush inside and not only is this a gas station but one full of truck drivers and pool tables. Wonderful. Just what we needed.
We sit in a booth near the pool tables and see how much money we have between the 3 of us. Nicey has nothing but a lighter and some pocket fuzz. Manipulator has $3. I have $28. My Mom was a lot of things when I was younger but she always made sure I had pocket money when I left the house. My other friends, on the other hand, never had any money.
Manipulator goes to the counter, gets change for the pay phone and goes outside to call Aunt Netty. She'll just come get us and all will be fine, right? She calls and well, she's not home. Or at least no one answers the phone. Fuckity fuck fuck!!
I absolutely refuse to call my Mom. We lived about 20 minutes from O'Burg and I was sure by looking around at the road signs that we were way over on the opposite side (Ghettoville/trailer trashville) and it would have taken her like 35 minutes to get to us. PLUS, we weren't supposed to be in this situation and I knew my Step-Dad super ultra asshole would have flipped the fuck out, surely never letting me leave the house again, ever.
Manipulator says there is no way in hell she's calling her Mom and getting Aunt Netty in trouble for taking us over there to begin with. What?! This is your fault to begin with bitch! Maybe Aunt Netty needs to be in trouble! She WAS the adult making the decisions at the time!
Nicey's folks couldn't have cared less about her and would never have come to get us and we already knew that.
And here we are back at WTF do we do now?
I go pee because I just can't hold it anymore. I look at myself in the bathroom mirror and I'm like, how the fuck did I get myself into this mess???? I just want to go home.
I come out of the bathroom and we decide we can't go anywhere until we get Aunt Netty on the phone. We couldn't think of a single other "safe" person to call. We were bound and determined to get out of this without getting into trouble.
I just didn't want to get grounded or hear my middle name be called. That always sucked and I had a teenage life to live damnit!
We take refuge in this gas station/pool hall for the entire day. We call and call and call Aunt Netty and no answer. We spent most of my $28 on food, drinks, pool and repeat phone calls. We get heckled by quite a few gas station patrons and truck drivers. We pay them no attention and even flip off a few, pressing our luck we're already fucked this bad, why not play Russian Roulette with strangers right?.
I knew I had to be somewhere at some point or my Mom going to start calling Manipulator's Mom and that was going to cause quite a problem for us AND I was getting sicker. I was starting to cough and I just knew I had something pretty gross going on with my nose and face.
Somehow, out of the blue, I thought of one of my older friends that had her license and a car! WOO HOO! My genius just kicked in at that exact moment. Her name was Blonde and she was my flute playing mentor from the band. She was about 16 and she drove me all over the place for band. We were pretty close and I knew she would drive that far to get me if I stressed that we were totally fucked with no other options.
I called Blonde and she answered right away! Sweet Jesus, thank you for letting the girl be home! I told her that I and two of my asshole friends were stranded in O'Burg and needed a ride home. She didn't ask a single question and said she was on her way, do not move. I was never so relieved in all of my life. We might just get out of this unscathed well, mostly.
We were standing outside in the freezing cold waiting on her when she got there. We leaped into the car and after proper introductions were made, I told her the entire story which she thought was hilarious. "You guys are stupid. That's why you don't go to boy's houses at 11PM at night when you don't have permission and you don't know their parents." Well, Blonde, lesson fucking learned! Fo sho!
Blonde took us to Netty's house to get our stuff we left there and lo and behold, she still wasn't home. We beat on the door and no one answered so what did we do? Climbed through the damn window. Oh yes, we did! We got our shit and climbed right back out the window. We left Aunt Netty a note so that she would know we were fine (like she gave a damn?!) and had Blonde deliver us to our houses.
Once I got home, my Mom didn't even notice who brought me home and I wasn't going to tell her. She asked me about my night and I said, "It was fun" and went into my room.
You think the horror ends there?? I think not!
My Mom came in a little while later and said that I was supposed to be babysitting that night for her friend Lizzy and did I forget? (I loved babysitting for Lizzy so I was super excited! I still felt like shit but I didn't tell my Mom because she probably wouldn't have let me babysit.)
We went to Lizzy's house (a trailer on a piece of land out in the middle of the woods in *BFE) and that's when I realized they weren't going anywhere. They were having a party outside around a fire, shooting skeet and whatever. Perfect. They wouldn't be far or out late. Lizzy's baby (who just turned 18 a few days ago...LOL) was probably about 3 or 4 months old. I went into the kitchen, drank half a bottle of Robitussin (because that is what I would normally do at my house) and laid on the bed with the baby on my chest to pat his butt to sleep.
Let's just say, I didn't use the little plastic measuring cup.
Well, apparently, I patted his butt and my butt right off to sleep. I literally passed out. It was nice and quiet and everyone was outside, across the yard at the outdoor party. My Mom and Step-Dad were there along with Lizzy, her husband, their parents and all their friends.
The next thing I know, someone is ripping the baby from my arms (I babysat this baby pretty much from the time he was born until he was 2 so who the hell is taking him from me????) and shaking the shit out of me. WTF?!?!?!
Apparently, I took too much Robitussin and hadn't slept enough at Crazy Chinese Lady's house the night before on top of being really sick and they had been beating on the door for around 20 minutes. The door was locked because they lived in the middle of the woods in *BFE and I strongly believe in serial killers. They had to break the window in the bedroom I was in and climb into it to wake me up. I can't believe the sound of someone breaking into the house didn't even wake me up! HOW UTTERLY EMBARRASSING! Everyone was freaking out because since I was unresponsive, they thought I was laying there dead with the baby.
Party abruptly over!
After that, my Mom took me home where I passed out into oblivion until late the next morning.
I felt the need to give my Mom an explanation so that she wouldn't think I had been smoking crack the night before so I went into the kitchen and told her the entire story.
She didn't punish me. I guess that's because she was glad I was okay and not dead in some trailer park. She sure didn't think it was funny either. If I remember correctly, I ended up at the doctor with some nasty upper respiratory infection or something like that on Monday morning. I don't know how my Mom didn't ground me but she didn't and to my knowledge she didn't tell my psycho Step-Dad either. Thank you, thank you!!
If you thought that was interesting, let me know in the comments section below. It was 100% true to the best of my memory and I have a ton of other crazy stories for later!!
Now that I've typed an entire book, here's to 100 more posts in the future!!
