I don't think I've talked much about music in any of my posts and I can't understand why....I love music.  I would have to say that besides people, music is my most favorite thing on the planet.  It means a lot to me.  If someone said, "You can have your ears or your eyes but not both." I'm the girl that picks her ears just so I can still hear music.  If it was give up music or die, well, then it's time for me to leave this earth and meet my maker because I just wouldn't be able to give it up.  It's my personal form of crack.  It's the very thing that keeps me sane.  Ask Red.  I listen to and sing music all day at my desk.  Unbelievable - By:  EMF right this very second  (PS, I can't sing worth a shit but I'm not embarrassed, it's a form of therapy and it just pours out of me.  I can't even stop it.  Trust me, I've tried and failed miserably.  AND I just don't care who hears my singing.)

This is my brain on crack music.

Does anyone remember Ally McBeal?  I used to love that show!!  Uh, oh, I see a DVD series in my immediate future! One of my favorite things about it is how Ally used to walk around and constantly have a song playing in her head.  THAT IS SO ME!!!  I look normal in the grocery store line just casually buying milk but in my head The Bangles are playing "Walk Like An Egyptian" live in concert!  I love it and unlike Ally, I never want to turn it off.

This is definitely when I fell in love with Calista Flockhart.

I'm pretty sure that my love for music started in the womb.  Nana Darling said that our cousin used to put his head phones on her pregnant belly so I could listen to his music.  Well, look how that turned out.  Nana used to read to her tummy too and guess who loves to read.  I think some things really do start in the womb.  I offer myself up as proof.  Someone must have also stood beside my Mom and whispered smart ass comments to her belly because I'm also full of those.

Try it....It can't hurt right?  Maybe someone should have turned on Bach instead of Talking Heads.  Maybe I could have been a brain surgeon??
So, (and I'm not going to give a solid commit to how often I'm going to do this because intentions are great but you have to have the follow through to make it happen) I am going to post some songs that I either just discovered or I just remembered existed for your personal enjoyment.  I usually download music about once a week, sometimes more often.  Hopefully, you will like some of my suggestions and download them yourself.  Hence the title:

DOWNLOAD THIS......

Okay, in no particular order:  (And btw, I love ALL kinds of music so don't be surprised if this list is a huge cluster-fuck of an assortment)

#1:  Countdown -  By: Beyonce

Some people hate her, most people love her.  I love her.  I just heard this song the other day on Pandora (the site that I listen to music on at work - totally free to sign up) and she's went and done it again!  I love this song.  I think it's different.  A far cry from the norm.  Dazzle said she really likes it too so I thought it was worthy of my list today.

I must say that I really love her makeup in this video!!

#2:  Heartbeat - By: The Fray

I love The Fray.  They have come out with some really good songs:  How To Save A Life, You Found Me and Over My Head, just to name a few.  It came to no surprise to me that they would have yet another great hit.

I really liked this live performance on Jimmy Kimmel.

#3:  C'mon N' Ride It (The Train) - By:  Quad City DJ's

You can laugh at how old this song is if you want to (1995) but it's such a classic!  Dazzle came home from school singing it the other day because they have been dancing in PE this week and that was one of the songs they were dancing to.  She acted like it was a new song and looked sort of surprised when she heard me singing it.  She shook her head and said, "I should have known you would know this song."  LOL, silly kids.  I searched my music library and was very surprised at myself that I didn't already have it.  Well, needless to say, that got fixed real quick.

I played this song in the car for Dazzle and we were all dancing (as much as you can in a moving vehicle).

#4:  Go Girl - Pitbull Featuring Trina & Young Boss

I LOVE Pitbull.  Supa kind of hates his music.  I appreciate all kinds of rap, even what Supa calls crap rap which for him Pitbull falls in this category.  The reason for his opinion is that he really respects and enjoys rappers like Eminem, 2Pac and Jay-Z which I agree, ARE on the opposite side of the rapping spectrum.  I, on the other hand, love Pitbull's charisma, beats and performances.  I think it's pretty awesome how he collaborates with everyone under the sun.

PS, I think he's pretty cute too :)

#5:  Such Great Heights - By:  The Postal Service

I had never heard of this band before.  This was another random song I heard on Pandora and really liked.

I will look up more of their songs later when I have time.

#6:  Set Fire to the Rain - By: Adele

Um, hello.  I love Adele and who doesn't?  This is her newest song and I don't think it's quite exploded as much as it is bound to.  I don't think her first hit "Chasing Pavements" really got the praise it deserved and I'm sure everyone is SICK of hearing "Someone Like You" on the radio (and every damn where else).  Don't get sick of Adele all together just because the people on the radio wear songs out.  She has way more up her sleeve than what we even know.

This was one of her first live performances of this song.  She is singing on the Graham Norton show.

I saw a quote from Adele not too long ago that I respect very much:

"I love food and hate exercise.  I don't have time to work out....I don't want to be on the cover of Playboy or Vogue.  I want to be on the cover of Rolling Stone or Q.  I'm not a trend-setter...I'm a singer.....I'd rather weigh a ton and make an amazing album then look like Nicole Richie and so a shit album.  My aim in life is never to be skinny."

Wow, now I'm not saying I agree completely but you're got to hand it to her....She knows what the fuck she means.  I hope she holds to her resolve and doesn't let "Hollywood" get to her.

#7:  Tonight is the Night - By:  Outasight

I don't really know much about this band yet.  Yet another good song I just heard randomly.
I'm sure they will wear this one out on the radio before too long.....Enjoy it while you still can.

#8:  Marry the Night - By:  Lady Gaga

I adore Lady Gaga.  Supa does too.  He thinks that she's genuinely pretty under all that crazy getup.  She really is!!  I think it's a really great example for young people today to believe that you should be your authentic, original, independent self no matter what that might mean.  We're not sheep.  I have the same outlook and I hope that I am raising my kids to have a great sense of who they are.  I don't want them to blend in and attempt to be just like everyone else.  That copy cat shit is NOT your true self.

That was Lady Gaga on Ellen of course.  All her performances are awesome so I just picked this one because Ellen ROCKS!

Did anyone see A Very Gaga Thanksgiving??  I recorded it without even knowing what it was just because I like her and I knew Supa would watch it with me.  Let's just say it was fucking fabulous!  She had her "family" (who knows if it was her real family or not) sitting around the room while she sang and played the piano.  She did a couple of really good duets and talked about her childhood and memories.  It was GREAT!

#9:  International Love - By:  Pitbull Featuring Chris Brown

Yet another Pitbull song, yes, I know....This one is pretty catchy.  I'm not too big on Chris Brown. I would never pay money to go see him lip sync and try to copy Michael Jackson sing.  I guess he's okay if he's just backing up someone else.  His voice isn't bad on the radio.  I also think he's a jerk for beating Rihanna's ass so bad.  You just can't take stuff like that back.

Yep, even how he stands there with his arms spread is cool.  :)

******************************************************************************************************

Okay, before I announce what #10 is (last but not least at all) I would like to express how embarrassed I am.  I guess maybe this a confession for me....Because ultimately, I listen to what the fuck I want to...BUT, this girl does have standards (those that are usually really high).  I don't care if you make fun of me but I want to explain myself properly.

Drum roll please........

#10 is:  Love You Like A Love Song By:  Selena Gomez and The Scene

Yes, you did read that right.  I despise Justin Bieber and I don't like any of his music.  I understand that Selena Gomez is his girlfriend and this song is probably all about him but I just don't care!  I heard this song a few times and I tried my best to deny that I liked it but finally I just gave in.  Once I downloaded it, I was totally hooked!!  This is my absolute favorite song right now and I hope that you'll just give it a chance and see if you like it.  It would be WAY better if someone else sang it.  Britney maybe??

I do think that this video is really stupid.  Just close your eyes after you hit play so you can just listen.  LOL.

It took me all day to write this post because I've been so busy.....Time to get some extra work done.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Make sure you get your Christmas shopping done!!  8 more days!!

Till Monday,

Apple
