| I love this stuff!! I made it for the kids and not myself. I didn't eat one bite. Mac N Cheese does not go well with P90X. |
I stood beside Jade and bitched for a half hour while doing P90X about how this wasn't working for me. My basic point was: I love the exercises that we're doing and I don't want to stop working out with my bff BUT there are only so many hours in a day and I NEED to spend time with my family when I get home from work each day. I don't need to feel totally rushed and guilty for not giving the kids the time and attention they deserve. So, since we couldn't really focus on what we were doing anyway, we decided to turn off the TV and go for a walk so that we could talk and I could clear my befuddled head.
After a brisk 30 minute walk around our neighborhood and much discussion, I felt much better. We decided that due to time constraints and "Mommy induced guilt" that working out in the afternoon wasn't going to work for us. From now on, I will get up at 5:45 in the morning before work and run/walk on the treadmill for an hour, 5 days a week. Then, on the weekends, we can get together during the day and do P90X. That's probably about all our bodies can take anyhow. If we find any extra time, we will go for walks or do some other form of exercise together but for now, that's the new plan. I started that today and when I got off the treadmill, I felt like a million sweaty bucks. I'm pretty fucking excited that I got my workout in early. Now I can go home to hang out with my family and actually sit down and eat dinner. Problems solved.
Supa took Dazzle and Neon to the dentist a couple of weeks ago for their 6 month cleaning and check-up. When I got home that day, Dazzle was literally on the floor sobbing because she had been informed that she had a cavity. A little tiny cavity that just started but it was her first one and she was hysterical! She was super upset because she said she brushes her teeth ALL the time and she just couldn't understand how this could happen to someone like her! I mean, she was totally over the edge with grief. (I'm so lucky to be the parent of an over dramatic 12 year old, let me tell you!!) I explained to her what happens when a cavity gets filled and reassured her (over and over) that everything would be fine. People that brush their teeth like mad fiends, still on occasion, get cavities. It took her a while but eventually she calmed down.

SO, Supa is off today and he took Dazzle and Neon back to the dentist. Neon had sealant put on all his teeth so that we could prevent him from getting cavities. Dazzle also had sealant put on her teeth and had her cavity filled. She was texting me almost the entire time she was having her filling done and she said she was kind of nervous but okay. She said it only hurt for a second when they gave her a shot in her mouth and after that, she was fine. She did say her cheek felt funny but she wasn't in pain and it was very quick. Supa took them to school afterwards and they both are perfectly fine. My sweet little Dazzle. LOL
I don't have anything else very exciting to report. Supa is coming to pick up Lolly and I and take us to lunch. (Firehouse Subs - I can eat a small turkey sandwich there, yum!!!) Then after work we're having turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies for dinner. Supa and I will have to run to Bilo to get coupon stuff and then it will be relaxation time! (After I make it through this work day)
