I came to work late today so I'm going to have to type quickly! I have a pile of things to do and not that much time to accomplish shit....I really just wanted to give everyone an update on Neon.
I took him to the kidney specialist today and they checked him out. They asked me about a million questions and had him pee in yet another cup.
After their assessment, they decided that Neon needs to have outpatient surgery (THIS COMING MONDAY) at the Children's Hospital here in town. He will be put to sleep and they are going to insert a tiny camera into his pee hole (yes, into his penis, OMG) so that they can see into his bladder. She said that sometimes an ultrasound will not show little tiny tears or blood clots so they have to do it this way to get a really good look. They should have the results of what they see right then so we will know what they found before we leave the hospital. (fucking YAY for fast results!) Then I'm going to take him home so he can sleep off his anestethia. They said it might burn the first few times he pees but other than that, he should be good to return back to school on Tuesday.
I have to take him by myself because Supa has to work <deep sigh of complaining>. I know the man has to work and I'm proud of him for taking on so much responsibility and providing (really nicely) for his family. I just wish I could have him when I want him (and he isn't happy about not being able to be there at all)...In times like this when I might need a shoulder. BUT on the other hand, I can handle it and I know he will be texting me like mad crazy finding out what is going on!! I'm going to hold my head up, straighten my shoulders, hide my fears (and probably tears) and put on my brave face for my little sweetie pie! He is so brave, I have to make sure he is as proud of his brave Mama as much as I am of him.
Keep us in all your thoughts please. I just want Neon to be healthy. I was going to say happy and healthy but he's about the happiest little person I know! I will post an entry from home on Monday after his procedure so that everyone doesn't have to hold their breath until Tuesday.
Worried but brave,
Apple
