Yeah, We're Back. (or something like that) Part 1

I never blog from home.  My desk chair at home is old and uncomfortable think from a thrift store about 6 years ago, stained, $7.00, at home my computer monitor isn't nearly as big or fancy as the one at work and at the moment the PC itself is also about 5 times slower than the one at work.  I love being in "Apple Land" when I get bloggy which doesn't happen as frequently at home as it does at work.  I have more time to myself at work.

For that reason, today becomes a special post.  Uncle Darling actually suggested I blog from home.  So, here I am.  I'm sick of laying on the couch.

I was off on Monday (still on vacation) and yesterday I was at work but I was too busy from being gone to blog.  I just started looking at coupons when I decided I had to leave.  Both of the kids were running fevers and I felt like shit.  Supa, Dazzle and I were sick while we were on vacation...I'll get to how we got to this point of sickness later.  Right now it's time to recall our VACATION itself.

First of all:    We.Had.An.Absolute.Blast.  Now that we've got that out of the way, I did take notes daily so I would remember what we did.

We left around 12:15 pm Friday night or Saturday morning for the smart asses.  Nearly was over.  The kids were semi-snoozing in Dazzle's room, too charged to sleep soundly.  Supa was sleeping so he would be rested to drive us.  I had gotten my nails done, picked up BBQ, fed the kids dinner, finished packing, checked and rechecked the house and what we were taking.
I didn't want blue.  I wanted gray but they supposedly only had silver.  That wasn't working for me.  I liked this color, so that's what I went with.
I was ready and getting very antsy. I was just ready to GO!  I wanted to leave between 10 and 12.   I promptly took one Xanax thanks to Jade so I could manage to NOT flip the fuck out on anyone on our way out the door.

Needless to say, I found myself very unstressed and carefree when we got on the road.

The ride there (12 1/2 hours actual driving time) wasn't bad at all.  No detours, no unforeseen bullshit issues.  We had a full tank of gas when we left the house ($65.00ish) and we only stopped to fill up twice on our way.

The kids and I mostly slept all night until breakfast.  Supa kept himself awake with the road, the radio and plenty of Livewire Mountain Dew.  When it came time for breakfast, we decided we didn't really feel like stopping and eating a full meal.  We just wanted to get there.  (Supa was sick with what we believed to be a sinus infection before we left and I was sure he was getting sick of driving.)  We stopped at a Burger King, got out to stretch, ate some breakfast and kept driving.  The kids started watching Men In Black in the backseat and I took a nap.  By the time I woke up, we were about 30 miles away from Grampa Darling's house.  Perfect.  We had half a tank of gas left over when we arrived.

I did take a few pictures in the moments I managed to stay awake:
Supa woke me up to the sight of hot air balloons!   YAY!  I grabbed my camera.

COOL!!!!
Hot air balloons always make me think about Grampa.  He has been on a few hot air balloon rides and he loves it.

This may or may not be on my bucket list.  I'd have to gather all my balls together to do it though.

What's a road trip without a really cool bridge??
"Jeffersonville"?  Okay.  That's the only clue to where this bridge was located.  Like I said, in between consciousness here.
Indiana?  We're getting closer!!!  (I can't believe I caught this!)

You know you're in Illinois when you find the corn fields on both sides of the truck.

Every time I watched The Children of The Corn, I peed in my pants a little.  That movie still scares the shit out of me and I'm in SC, away from the corn.

Aunt Darling text me on our way there to let me know that I better be good because once we got there, she had a little surprise for me.  I promised I was being good.  :)

We got to the house and we were there for about 10 minutes (no she didn't wait for me to sit down or take my shoes off) when she said she wanted to show me something.  We went into the spare bedroom where she presented me with......

TO BE CONTINUED......................

*Sorry folks.  I have to get up early to get on the treadmill and get ready for work and Supa is finally home.  I need to give him some attention.

In hopes of great suspense,

Apple
