Happy Black Friday!!

This post is going to be super short.  I'm too tired to type really.  I'll explain later.

Thanksgiving day was awesome.  Since my family lives in Chicago and Supa has no family, it was just Supa, Dazzle, Neon and I as usual at our house for Turkey Day.  Here is what we had to eat:

-- 8 lbs. of ham
-- 15 lb. turkey
-- homemade mac and cheese
-- broccoli and cheese casserole (first time making this and it was delicious!)
-- homemade mashed potatoes and gravy
-- deviled eggs
-- homemade stuffing (finally found the best recipe ever on the internet and it turned out amazing)
-- rolls
-- 2 of Grama Darling's pumpkin pies

I keep saying homemade because some people eat shit out of the box.  On Thanksgiving?  No thanks.

I have been saying for a long time that I can't cook.  I couldn't.  BUT since Supa has been practically living at work lately, I have been left to my own devices.  Dazzle said, "Mama, you need to stop saying that you can't cook because you can now!"

SO, for the first Thanksgiving ever, I asked Supa to be my sous chef and let me make the food.  He did exactly as I asked.  He chopped, prepped, stirred and handled the meat for me.  The rest, I did.  I seasoned and tasted and prepared like a pro!  I was so proud of myself and of us for cooking that huge meal together, laughing and having a great time.  The food tasted super fucking amazing.  We all said what we were thankful for and then pigged out.  YUM!  Best. Thanksgiving. Ever.  I can't wait to eat the leftovers today.

After our tummies were stuffed, we all laid around in the living room and I passed out in a food coma for about 3 hours.

THEN..................

Jade came over to eat pie as she always does while we looked at Black Friday sale ads to come up with our plan of action.

We left the house around 8:30 to secure our spot.

Walmart:
Usually, Walmart makes everyone wait until the time the sale starts to put things in their buggies so we weren't worried.  Not this year.  WTF?!  The sale started at 10:00PM and we got there at 9:15.  There were a lot of things already gone.  FML!  I was mostly just pissed off because I really wanted to get Dazzle a specific X-BOX game that was on sale from $40.00 to $10.00 but I guess you win some, you lose some.  l still managed to spend $32.00 on mostly DVDs.  We had to wait until 10:00PM to check out but we got a nice place in line and were out of there actually pretty fast.  I'm calling it.....mostly a win.
This is from the register point of view.  We were checking out at this point.  There are people as far back as the eye can see.  Sorry for the shitty picture.  I forgot my fucking camera AGAIN.

Target:
We got to target at about 10:15PM.  The line outside to go into the store was all the way down the strip mall in front of another store.  I did manage to get a picture of this line when we first arrived.
See that little red speck on the left side of this photo?  That is the Target entrance.

It seems like a huge long line now (and it fucking was) but you should have seen how long it got by the time we waited there for 1 hour 45 minutes (till Midnight when they let us inside).  It was all the way down the sidewalk to the end of the strip mall.  We waited for so long that the Target employees came outside to hand out snacks.  LOLOLOL!
I now know that Chocolate Peppermint Stick Luna bars are delicious.  See, you learn something new every single day.  Even on Black Friday.  ;)

At about 11:50, there was a huge crowd that had developed across the curb from the Target front doors.  I guess they thought they were just going to blend in with the crowd and get in ahead of everyone who had been waiting.  The line was pretty pissed and they were being very vocal about it.  People were getting rowdy and then out of heaven, a cop came and held all those people back while we walked in freely.  It was amazing.  Finally, a situation where justice was actually served to assholes.  I waved at and thanked the cops.  :)

Target was a cluster-fuck (I would like to insert here that the Target employees really were prepared, handing out maps, being extremely patient and helpful and just all around very organized)  but we did get everything we intended to buy.  There was a Pyrex set of dishes that I really wanted but they were out of them.  I was standing in line with Jade complaining loudly about how disappointed I was when a man behind us said, "Hey, I have one right here and I don't think I want it.  Would you like it?".  WHAT?!  That is not normal of people on Black Friday.  I said, "Yes!!  Thank you so much!", jumped up and down like a total retard and squealed with glee!!  Thank you kind sir!!  You are going to heaven just for that one random act of kindness!!  WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!

Best Buy:
There was a line for Best Buy that wrapped halfway around the parking lot BUT thankfully, when we got there it was considerably down to a tiny line.  They were only letting maybe 50 people in the store at a time so that it wouldn't be too crowded.  (Very nice - shout out to Best Buy for being like Target, helpful, patient, kind and organized)  We stood outside in line for maybe 20 minutes.  This did concern us because we were worried that everything would be gone but once we got inside....Heehee...We got everything we wanted AGAIN!  Thank ya, Jesus!

Basically, we met some really nice folks while standing in line.  We met some really annoying ones too.  We had a great time together, Jade and I.  We always do.  We look after each other and accomplish as much as possible.  All in all, a total win.

SO, here I sit, at work.  FML.  I got in bed around 3AM and I didn't fall asleep for awhile.  Then I was back up again at 7:30AM.  I have to work from 8:30 to 5:23 today and needless to say, I didn't even take a shower.  I look like a bum and I feel like one too.  My knees, legs, feet and back hurt from standing in line on concrete for those extended periods of time.  Mostly, I'm ok.  I'm tired but I've been more exhausted than this before.  I'm not hung over.  I don't stink too bad.  I'm going to nap at my desk in between calls and before I know it, it will be time to go home to Supa and the babies to have Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner!  YUM!

Until Monday,

Apple
