I Can't Believe The Weekend Is Over ALREADY!?

This past weekend really flew by!  I was super sad to see it go and now I can't wait for the next one!  :)  Story of my life.

The Darling family did have a great weekend.  We always do our best to have some fun.

I knew I would be busy Saturday morning so Friday afternoon I left work and went straight to the nail salon.  My nails needed some TLC and Mama needed to relax for a bit.

I decided that I didn't want to be like everyone else and have green nail for St. Patty's day so I went with blue.  I like the dark shade that I picked.

Friday night, I did nothing.  Hung out with Supa and went to bed early.  I was tired.

Before I hit the hay, I did make sure that I set the kids up with a visit from our local leprechauns.  :)  Every year, on St. Patty's Day, the leprechauns come and visit our house.  They always leave a mark that they've been there....

I woke the kids up at 6AM Saturday morning so that we could get ready for a day at the flea market.  They were excited that the leprechauns didn't forget us.  Here is the evidence caught on camera:
Green toilet water...hmmmm.....

Little pots of gold Rolos that spell out HI?!  They were really trying to get our attention!

Dazzle knows that I'm the one behind these things.  (But it's still fun for her, she says!)  She understands that Santa, The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are only imaginary but Neon doesn't!  He's still my little fella!

We got ourselves ready and we were off to the flea market for a day of selling our stuff.

**Every time I clean out the kids rooms (with their 100% participation, I mean, I am the boss but it's their stuff) we usually come away with bags of stuff they don't want anymore or they've grown out of.  I usually store these bags in the shed until we have a bunch of stuff.  Then we either have a yard sale or we go the flea market and rent out a table ($15) to get rid of the stuff.  If we don't sell everything, I either save it for the next sale or take it to Goodwill to donate.**

This was the first time I have ever let the kids go the flea market with me to sell stuff.  I usually go with Jade and we split the cost of the table.  Jade couldn't go this time and I thought the kids were old enough to come with me and help a great deal.  It was only supposed to get up to 81 degrees on Saturday and I thought we would be fine.

SO, we packed the cooler with ice and drinks, took the sunscreen and got ourselves a table!  I made sure that we got a table facing west so that our backs would be to the sun.  I don't like sitting with the sun glaring in my eyes all day.  We backed the truck up to the table and got our stuff set up.  When we were finished, it looked like this:  (I'm trying hard to be a good little blogger and take my fucking camera when I leave the house :)

The kids are actually kneeling down behind the table so they could conceal their identities.  :)
**Important Side Note:**

**I'm sure everyone is freaking out because my two - 6 foot tall Edward Cullen cardboard cutouts are sitting there for sale.  Yes, I was going to sell them.  It took me quite a while to realize that I don't need these to show my extreme love for Edward Cullen.  The first one (on the right) was gifted to me by J. Strawberry and it was one of the happiest days of my life when he was delivered to my door and I got to open him and hold him, kiss him and other things that I won't mention here, heehee!.  The second one was gifted to me by Kitti.  I had both of them standing up in my bedroom for a long, long time.  After the coven dismantled, they both reminded me of nothing but Kitti.  (MUCH to my dismay)  I had to take them down.  I couldn't stand that constant reminder every day.  I put them both in the attic.  When we went to the flea market, my original idea was to bring them to just attract attention.  (AND THAT THEY DID!  I bet about 200 people asked me about them over the course of the day so I decided to try to sell them)  Long story short, I started out asking $20.00 for each one.  People were gasping!  I lowered the price to $15 each.  People were still gasping!  After much of the day had passed by, I actually started quoting the ridiculously low price of $5.00 each.  As one lady was walking away she said to her friend, "$5.00 for cardboard?!  Wow."  I almost chased her down to explain to her that the 6 feet tall piece of cardboard she was refusing to pay $5.00 for was much, much more than just a piece of cardboard.  I decided not to waste my time with her.  What the hell does she know?!  By the end of the day, I asked the kids what I should do with them.  I just knew at that point that I couldn't bear to take them back home.  Dazzle and Neon had to help me but I ended up setting them up next to the trash can.  It was the right thing to do.  I went back to the table (trash can at my back) and started packing up.  Not 2 minutes later, Dazzle says, "Mama!  Look!  Edward is gone!"  Just that fast, someone came and took him away.  Sniff, sniff.  I hope someone could give him a good home.  It's not his fault that Kitti is a bad person who enjoys hurting families. **

The kids and I had a great time together.  We got to the flea market at about 7:15AM and left around 1:15PM.  We people watched, straightened up the table after people made a huge mess touching everything, laughed a bunch and made some money!  We had chili dogs and french fries from the snack shop for lunch.  Yum!!  I paid each of the kids for helping me man the table and wait on customers.  Dazzle even sold some of her duct tape items that she makes.

A duct tape hair bow.  There is a bobby pin on the other side so you can wear it in your hair.

These are duct tape flower pens that Dazzle makes. Too cute and made with duct tape only.  These were some of her first ones that she ever made.

It was cloudy and perfect weather most of the time we were there.  Not too hot, not too cool.  Then the sun came out and it started getting pretty warm.  We decided to pack up and head to the house to take a few cold showers.  On our way home, we dropped the remaining stuff off at His House (another place like Goodwill) so that the less fortunate could buy some awesome stuff at a really cheap price :)  There was only about 25% of the stuff left over anyhow.  We sold most of it.  WOO HOO!!

The kids and I got home, emptied our supplies out of the truck, took cold showers and decided it was time to chill!  We watched Marley and Me (well, they did, I took a nap on the couch) and just relaxed for a while.  Neon cried while watching the movie.  Dazzle sobbed.  This was the first movie ever that made Neon cry.  LOL.  I heard it was a really sad movie but they enjoyed it all the same.  Dazzle woke me up when the movie was over and it scared me that they were both all puffy eyed and sniffing.  I'm glad it was just the movie and nothing was really wrong with them!

I got up, took yet another shower (so my hair would be super fly) and got ready to go have dinner.  Supa got off at 6:00 and when he got home, we took the kids to our favorite Mexican restaurant for some tacos!  YUM!

When we got back from dinner, Jade came over to hang out.  Shortly after she got there, Nearly showed up.  Supa played video games while the girls and I played some cards.
Of course I took the picture when I was winning!  ;)

My throat was still sore from being sick so I had a hot cup of tea in Supa's coffee mug.  I love it (perfect size) and the face of the man that created the buisness that feeds us staring at me so I kind of stole it from him.

The girls and I had an absolute blast.  (We missed you, Lolly!!!)  When they went home, Supa went to bed and I watched TV until I passed out on the couch.  Fun stuff!!!

Sunday morning, we slept until we damn well felt like getting up!  (8:30 AM)  Supa had to work 8-7 so he was gone when we got up.

We had breakfast together, took showers and off we went!  We ran by the flea market to see my favorite movie guy but he wasn't there (WTF?!?!?!?).  We stopped at Lowe's to see if they had any St. Patty's Day flags on sale for our front porch.  No dice there either!  YUCK!   Then we headed to Walmart to get a few things. We weren't there that long and then it was back home for us!

We had lunch and got started getting our chores done for the day.  The kids worked on the laundry on and off all day.  I cut Neon's hair.

Oh, btw, before I cut his hair, he decided to go "fix" it so I could see what a real freak looked like.  (LOL)  Here were the results:

I told him that he had to cover his face so that we didn't give his identity away and this was the closest thing handy  :)

Think an attempt at a faux halk with way too much hair gel.  LOL
I explained to Neon that he didn't look like freak at all.  This is how LOTS of people, kids and adults both wear their hair.  Haha!!!

I downloaded some new music, made a couple of new ring tones for Dazzle and uploaded my bloggy pics.

Afterwards, the kids and I headed for the kitchen to do some major damage (it would have been if we wouldn't have followed my strict, "Clean as you go along" policy.)

We made mini, devils food cupcakes with fudge or cream cheese icing for the week.

This is only a few of them.  We made about 100 so I have containers of them all over the place at the moment.
I didn't have one container that could hold all of them.   Holy shit those turned out yummy!

We also made a huge container of pasta salad and tuna salad for our lunch boxes for the week  (A person can get really sick of ham and cheese or peanut butter and jelly) all while continuing to bake all these mini cupcakes and frost when we had the chance.  Then we made our actual lunches (a pain in itself since we have four to be made) and started dinner.  Salisbury steak and brown gravy over homemade mashed potatoes with a side of peas.  YUMMMMM!

We didn't wait on Supa to get home since he had to work until 7PM.  We ate, finished cleaning up our mess and finally got to relax for a while.  I was ready to SIT down and chill by that time.

Supa got home, ate his dinner and came to watch TV with me.  We were watching Private Practice when I saw a commercial that made me sob.  A COMMERCIAL?!  Really?!  I usually fast forward right through the commercials but Supa got up at that moment to get something from the kitchen so I watched.  It was one of those commercials where you don't know what the product is that they're advertising until the end so it caught my attention.

Proceed with caution!  Like I said, it made me ball!

Then when Supa returned from the kitchen, he had to know what made me cry so I had to watch it AGAIN!  GRRR!!  LOL.  Good job, Beneful!

I went to bed not too long after that.  It was a long weekend and I think I was just tired.

I hope everyone had a great weekend like I did.  I'm going to do a little work now, check prices on the Internet for swimming lessons (Neon refuses to even TRY to learn how to swim so I'm going to fix that problem.  I'm going to the beach this summer and I'm not about to worry about the kid drowning the entire time.  NO WAY!) and watch some TV!

Till Tomorrow,

Apple
