<huge amounts of psycho crazy laughter>
When I left work on Thursday, I went home, took my contacts out and went BACK to the CVS Minute Clinic. There was something wrong with my right eye and that's just nothing to play around with.
The verdict? Pink Eye. Wonderful. The Internet definition of pink eye:
"Conjunctivitis is swelling (inflammation) or infection of the membrane lining the eyelids. "Pink eye" refers to a viral infection of the conjunctiva. These infections are especially contagious among children."
Wonderful. I have pink eye. My two smallish children do not. Let me stay far away from them and not touch them for 5-7 days until my eye is back to normal so I don't give them this highly contagious eye fuck up. GREAT!
The doctor prescribed some eye drops and forbid me to go to work on Friday.
Friday, all day long, I did nothing. Well, mostly nothing. Supa was at work and both of the kids were at school. Jade, Lolly and Nearly were all working. I had nothing to do really. I did the laundry and dishes. I took a two hour nap in my bed. I watched "The Blind Side"
Saturday, Supa was off of work.
I woke up with green pus sealing off both of my eyes. Wonderful. Pink eye in both fucking eyes. I started eye drops in the left eye and hoped like hell the kids don't get it.
Supa took me to the flea market to get new sunglasses (Yes, AGAIN! I broke my other ones) and to make sure the movie guy wasn't there on Saturday instead of Sunday, no he wasn't.

I decided to go with basic black this time. He did have a purple pair that I really liked....Hmmmmm....Maybe he'll still have them when I break this pair |
Supa got a bag of boiled peanuts. He said he knew the kids would go crazy. Yes, they did. They love them! I can't believe how much they charge for boiled peanuts now! $6.00 for the medium bag! WTF?! I remember when that size was 2/$5.00!
Back home we went to get the kids and take them to lunch. We had pre-decided to head across town (29 miles, 38 minutes) to check out Red Robin. We had never been there and we are always up for a great burger. If you've never been there, check out their website here. For us, it was well worth the drive. Super cool atmosphere, excellent food, fast service. We had a great time together.
Afterwards, we decided to stay on that side of town and check out what it had to offer. We have a huge (what I would call) outdoor, shopping mall that we had never been to. We parked (a feat in itself) and walked around for an hour or so. I had a hard time seeing anything because I forgot my eye drops and my new sunglasses in the van. FML. Once we were in the stores and out of the sun, I was okay. We went into several stores that I had never heard of before, specialty food stores and a toy store or two. The kids said it was the "BEST TOY STORE EVER!". LOL
We drove past a Baskin Robins on our way to the shopping mall so when we were finished (and our lunch had time to settle a little) we took the kids to get ice cream sundaes. YUM. Then we were on our way back home again, sleepy and full.
After we got home, the kids got on the computer (they still fit in one desk chair together :) too cute), Supa on the love seat with his Kindle Fire - reading the Hunger Games, and I manned the couch. I told them I was taking a food-coma style nap. I started watching Amazing Race, knowing that I would fall asleep in the middle. Nope, I watched the entire episode and was still awake....Hmmm....So, I started watching Undercover Boss. I watched that entire episode, too! I never did fall asleep! That was very strange for me.
By then, it was time to either eat dinner or have a snack. We all decided we weren't hungry so I just made some soft pretzels in the oven and my specialty cheese sauce for us. YUMMMY!! We had our snack and I got back on the couch.
Since there was nothing left for Supa and I to watch together and the kids had already announced they were going into Dazzle's room to watch "Grownups", we thought we had better find a movie to watch. After spending quite awhile looking at movies and trying to come to a compromise, Supa said, "Hey, how about "Weird Science"." HAHA! Really Supa?! NO PROBLEM-O! I love that movie!

This is one of those movies where you're almost ashamed to tell people you love it. |

Supa exclaimed, "Hey! That's Robert Downy Jr. with a bra on his head" Yep, sure is! HAHA! |

We love you, Chet!! |
We laughed our asses off and had a great time. Supa thought it was pretty damn funny. What a great movie to have in our collection! Took me straight back to the 80's where my ass belongs. Shortly after the movie, I was OUT on the couch. I guess the absence of a nap finally caught up with me.
Supa woke me up sometime around midnight to let me know that we forgot to turn the clocks forward an hour (FFFML! - I thought it was NEXT weekend) and how I needed to get in the bed.
Sunday morning, I woke up around 9 AM, thinking it was 8 AM. WTF?! The kids and I ran to the flea market to check out the movie guy. He was there and I got the kids the new Footloose movie for Easter (they were in the truck and didn't see my purchase). We went straight back home and got some house chores done.
The kids went outside to play in the afternoon while I laid on the couch and watched The Bodyguard. What a wonderful afternoon! Peace, quiet and Kevin Costner. WOOT!

I've seen this movie about 500 times. I still cried during all the appropriate parts and I still swooned over Kevin Costner as usual. |

I was going to take a picture when I first put the goolash in the bowl but I was so eager to eat it, I forgot!! Sorry about the sloppy bowl. :) |
We watched some random TV last night after dinner and then I was OUT on the couch! Sleepy time!
My eyes are tired from staring at the computer screen with my glasses on today. I'm calling it quits for now.
Till tomorrow,
Apple
