Happy Turkey Day!!

I would like to start out this post with a few random things I previously forgot about.

I sent Uncle Darling his birthday card the other day and he has received it.  (I've been holding off posting the photo of it because I wanted him to be surprised)
There was a $25 iTunes gift card inside.
Aunt Darling helped me decide.  Since he doesn't go out to eat (WTF?!  Who doesn't go out to eat?!)  we thought this would be something he could definitely use.  Bingo!  He already text me and said he loved it.

Red sent me this the other day and I laughed until I almost cried:
LOL, oh, don't we all!
Fucking get it together, Santa!  Last year, you were such a slack ass!!!

The next day after the girls and I got back from our Breaking Dawn trip, we took Cat Mama, Dazzle and Neon to the movies to see it for Cat's birthday.  WAHOO, time #2 for Jade and I!!!  (I'm hoping to take Supa to see it soon so I can make that time #3!)  We had Subway for lunch and made dirt for Cat's birthday gathering that night.

Cat doesn't like cake (another WTF?!) but she does like my dirt recipe.
It is supposed to say "Happy Birthday" and then Dazzle cropped her name off of it for me.  Jade did her best.  I think she just needed bigger M&M's really....No one cared and everyone ate it up.

We got her exactly what she asked for.
A nail polish shelf just like the one I have.  :)
This is Cat hiding behind the box so I can take the photo.  We had a great time at Jade's Mom and Dad's house and we all ate too much dirt.

Dazzle recently decided that she loves Bon Jovi.  Well, at least one song from my collection.  She made a video to represent her affection for the song and for me....(I guess...?)

Very short and very cute.  Maybe I have a movie producer on my hands?  Hmmmm....

We once again celebrated Thanksgiving by ourselves.  I did invite Dark Special to spend the day with us but luckily for him, he got to go home and see his family.  We missed having him but I know he was glad to go home.  I also missed our family immensely but I did get to call and talk to Grampa Darling so that made me feel better.

We had TOO much to eat as usual....I made sure to get on the treadmill first thing Thanksgiving morning so that I wouldn't feel TOO guilty for eating all this delicious food....
BEFORE

The famous pumpkin pie recipe.  Thank you Grama for leaving this with us.  Neon goes CRAZY over my pies so I knew I had to make two of them.
AFTER

They smelled amazing!
BEFORE

**I was determined to be a good blogger and not forget photos this time.  Supa and Dazzle helped me take lots of pictures.**

Supa got the smallest turkey he could find from the Pub-Dizzle.
It's almost done!!

AFTER
I can still smell it.  YUM!!!!
Yep, our little 4 person family needed a turkey AND a ham!

I really wanted the ham to make bunches of leftovers for the freezer.  Ham casserole is great in the winter and fast/easy to throw together.
BEFORE

Mmmm, yeast rolls!  I had no idea these little suckers had to sit out for 3 hours before baking them (for 10 mins, WTF?!).  They were worth the wait.
AFTER

Wow, they were warm and super delicious.

Supa's stuffing.  It's so good!

It just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without Grama's deviled eggs.

My homemade mac and cheese.  Mixed with love, topped with Planko bread crumbs and popped in the oven for a little while to reach a melty perfection.  OMG, it was amazing.

Supa's broccoli and cheese casserole.
We are a cheesy kind of family.  LOL

Turkey gravy!

Not sure why this pic turned out so yellow looking....Maybe from the weird light over the stove....
Those are my loaded mashed potatoes with bacon and cheese among other things...The kids were moaning.  :)  I aim to please.

We ate and ate.  Copper and Odie had some ham and turkey.  When we were finished, Neon looked like he was pregnant!
That's a massive food baby if I ever seen one!!  LOL

After we laid on the couch for a few minutes letting our stomachs settle, it was time to clean up the mess and put all the food away.  It didn't take very long with all 4 of us working together but by the time we were finished, I wasn't feeling like washing one more pot.  LOL.

I laid on the couch and fell into a deep food coma while the kids watched football with their Dad.

I woke up about 3 hours later when Nearly text me.  I was glad that she did because I had to get up and get ready for our Black Friday shopping!!  Wahoo!!  I was excited and ready!

Jade and Nearly arrived at exactly the same moment, you would have thought they planned that shit.  Jade and I were going shopping, Nearly Perfect was stopping by to spread her Thanksgiving cheer.  We looked at all the sales ads together to make our plan of action.  Nearly said that she wanted to go with us and we told her she had to follow our ground rules if she wanted to join us:
Black Friday:  Learn the survival rules.
1)  NO PURSES - If you take your purse inside the stores with you on Black Friday, you're asking to be mugged or beaten for your shit.  It's just what could happen.  You also need to have both your hands/arms free for rule #2.

2)  NO BUGGIES some people refer to these as carts- If you can't carry it, you can't have it.  People with buggies get trapped in the crowd and can't move around or escape quickly.  Not us bitches.  The only exception to rule #2 is if you must buy a TV, trampoline or other large ticket item.  In that case, reinforcements will be called in for assistance and a master plan will be created.

3)  NO SEPARATION - Try to stay within sight of each other.  Don't wander off and leave the group.  Always stay in the same area and make sure you have your charged cell phone in your pocket in case the crowd involuntary separates us or if you run into a situation where 911 may need to be dialed.   You will need your cell phone.

Nearly agreed to our list of rules and was granted permission to accompany us.  (I hope she felt really special because we don't let people go with us.  No one is fucking our Black Friday mission)

We had a GREAT time and Nearly was an excellent asset to our little team.  We had two extra arms, she didn't complain or bitch and we made out like bandits!  We left the house around 7PM and we were so hyped up we forgot to eat pumpkin pie!  Oops!!

Stop #1 -

Walmart:

There was a good amount of people milling around inside the store.  The sale started at 8PM and by the time we walked the perimeter and scoped out where things were, we had about 15 minutes to stake our claim on the things we really wanted.  We decided to position ourselves at the video games.  There were a couple we needed and there were also some PS3 controllers that were on sale for half price.

When the associates said, "GO" and started taking the wrap off of the display, everyone went nuts.  It was totally uncalled for because there were plenty of items to go around but madness still ensued.  We got what we needed and got out.

I don't think we were in Walmart for a very long time.  The associates at the front of the store were directing customers to unoccupied check out lines and honestly, there was a lot less chaos then previous years.  I wonder if that was because the sale started so much earlier than prior years or what but I was grateful.  Even though there was not much going on to be alarmed with, there were cops everywhere inside the store and out.

We did see one man that looked like he may have been on his way to being arrested.  He had 3 PS3 bundle packs in his buggy heading out the door and only paid for one on his receipt.  How he thought he was about to pull that off was beyond me.  LMAO, what a dumbass.

Stop #2 -

Target:

There was a line to get inside the store but by the time we got there, it was in a steady flow.  We didn't have to stand outside in line for 2 hours like we did last year and were inside the store quickly.  We again walked the perimeter, taking items as we went.  I got a new toaster for $8 (a red one too!), a huge King size awesome blanket, throw type thing only for $20 (that will look great in my new bedroom that we're preparing for), a new pillow for $3 and a bunch of other stuff, DVD's and such.  We did have to stand in line to check out for maybe 30 minutes but it wasn't bad at all.

There was a cool lady behind us with her friend (who happened to go to school with Jade) that allowed us to put our stuff in her buggy so we didn't have to stand there holding it the whole time and that was really nice.

We made it in and out with hardly an issue and got more than what we came for.

**Supa and I will be shopping for a bedroom TV for our renovation so I decided if I came across a good deal, I should probably go ahead and get it.  There usually aren't any TV's left unless you go 4 hours ahead of time but this year, there were piles of TV's sitting around, waiting for the taking.  I called and told Supa the sizes, brands and prices and he said they were all shit so those TV's stayed right where they were.  I'm glad my husband does his electronic research and keeps up to date with the brands and reviews so I didn't end up investing in a shitty TV.**

Stop #3 -

Best Buy:  Just kidding.  We tried to go to Best Buy, and the line was to the back of the parking lot.  We realized that it was 10:30 and the store didn't open until midnight.  It was cold outside and we didn't HAVE to get much there.  We decided to mosey on over to K-mart first and then return to Best Buy when we were finished.

I called Supa while we were deciding what to do and told him I was getting hungry.  (We ate our big dinner at 2PM and my stomach was starting to growl.  He said, "Well, we don't have any damn food in this house so you'll have to get something."  WHAT!?  All that food we had leftover!  LMAO!!!  The girls and I decided to stop by Sonic (the only place that was open pretty much) and have a snack on the way to K-Mart so we would be prepared to deal with the Best Buy line upon our return.

K-Mart:

There was no line to enter the store and there weren't THAT many people inside.  The electronics department was kind of crowded but not too bad.  I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone with all this ease we were experiencing.  I was almost hoping for complete chaos and bloodshed so that Nearly could get the full take on what Black Friday is known for but nope, she had it easy.  Jade said we were "Popping her Black Friday cherry" but it really felt like we were EASING her into it instead of a hard core, traditional popping.  LOL.

K-Mart didn't have much to offer that I was interested in.  I think I spent $6.  Jade did find some toys that Bean wanted so it wasn't a complete waste of a trip.

Stop 4:

Best Buy finally:

There was a line from the front door, all the way back to the end of the parking lot.  We decided that it was worth it and picked a spot.  I think they were letting about 50 people in the store at a time so it was going to be quite a wait.

I did take my camera but I didn't have much time to use it.  I did capture this though:
Can you tell how far away from the door we really were?

We were COLD and our feet were beginning to hurt but we didn't complain much and we had fun telling old sex stories to each other for entertainment.  It's funny how many hilarious encounters we all came up with to pass the time.  I think we waited in line for about 45 minutes and when we finally got inside, the wait was totally worth it.

Since they were only letting a certain number of bodies in at one time, it was a pretty much stress free shopping trip.  No one shoved or attacked us.  We walked around with plenty of space and there were associates everywhere to assist us.  I wanted a specific game for Neon and Supa that was advertised as being half price and I got it.  Yipee!!  There was no wait to check out either and that just made our night.

Best Buy was a win, win and when we were finished, we knew it was time to take it to the house.  I had to work the next day and knew I was going to be paying for it in a few hours when I had to get up.  (Not that I truly gave a fuck because no one was going to rain on my Black Friday but we all felt like we got accomplished what we set out to do)

I got home around 2 AM.  I got to sleep around 3 AM and I got up at 7 AM OK, more like 7:20 after I hit the snooze 4 times.  I got to work and made it through the day only because my boss was nice and let me leave at 3:15ish.

When I got home, I was TIRED but I still had things to do.....

We'll pick up there tomorrow.....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
