Lazy Weekend

It would be completely unjust of me to complain today about how much I don't want to be at work so I won't. I only have to work 2 days this week!! Thank God! I'm ready for a break from work and normal life.

We did have a nice weekend but it was pretty uneventful. I knew this was going to be the last lazy weekend for a while and I thought we should just enjoy it while we could.

Friday night, I did nothing. We stayed home and watched TV. Apparently, I fell asleep on the couch and stayed there until Supa left to go to work and woke me up (3AM).

Saturday, I got up and got straight on the treadmill. I wanted to go ahead and get my exercise out of the way. I was glad when it was over since I was dripping with sweat and ready to take a shower. (I always feel amazing when I run but I still hate being sweaty - yuck!)

The kids and I cleaned Dazzle's room. It took about an hour or so less than Neon's room did last weekend and we got rid of less stuff. We found a little trash and a few things to sell but she had mostly organization issues. We dusted and sorted and when we finished, it looked much better.  I remembered to take before and after pictures this time.

Before, her desk was a disaster.

After, much better.

Bed before,  It looked like a dog slept in it. Oh, wait, it did.  Copper!!

Bed after!  Much better.
Right as we were finishing up, R.J.A.T.W showed up. He helped me take the reject items out to the shed and then it was lunchtime. We had sandwiches and leftovers, cleaned up the mess and talked for a while.

Jade came over to drop off her rakes (I broke ours the last time I used it and haven't had a chance to replace it yet...) for us to borrow. We hung out talking to her for a little bit. Once she left, it was time to get some more work done.

I bought some of those pumpkin, leaf bags to fill up and put in the yard. We have a huge, old Sycamore tree in the front yard that is shitting big leaves all over the place so I knew we wouldn't have any problems filling up the bags. Dazzle wasn't feeling well so she hung out on the porch. R.J.A.T.W raked out the bushes and around the porch for me while Neon helped me get the leaves into the bags. It was good exercise and a fun time. Everyone said that my bags looked like they were for Halloween but it's still fall! I think they can stay there and look festive until we put up the Christmas decorations just fine! Lol.

When we were finished, it was time to sit and rest for a bit. I caught up on Facebook and Hanging With Friends while my helpers caught up on some cartoons. :)

Supa finally came home from work (about two hours later than he was scheduled to get off) and I took yet another shower. We hung out with R.J.A.T.W until he had to leave to go back home and then we took the kids to dinner.

We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, San Jose and had a great dinner together. We spent another night at home, watching TV and hanging out and I loved every minute of it.

I had a taco.  YUM!

Sunday, Supa had to work all day again. The kids and I did our usual routine of dishes, laundry and cleaning. We also worked on some fun painting projects together.

Uncle Darling sent me a Pinterest idea that looked really fun so we decided to give it a try. I called them feet turkeys and they actually turned out really awesome! The best part was painting the kids feet and listening to them squeal over and over because "It tickles, Mama!".  LOL, really fun stuff.  If I could bottle their giggles and sell them, well, I'd be rich.

Our "turkey feet".  Thanks for the great Pin idea, Uncle Darling!!
That's Neon's on the left and Dazzle's on the right.

Aunt Darling hangs plastic eggs around the house during Easter time for decoration.  I decided I loved her idea and wanted to decorate our house (next Easter) with eggs too.  I had Dazzle get the box of plastic eggs out of the attic the last time she made a trip up there so we could work on that project a little bit at a time.

I had to use a power tool.  EVERYONE BETTER WATCH OUT!!
First, I drilled a hole in the top of the egg.  Then I had the kids put a piece of ribbon in the hole and tie a knot.
I wrote numbers on these eggs with a permanent marker last Easter and it was either make them pretty again or throw them away.  We sponge painted them!
The eggs turned out really pretty and we had fun covering up those ugly numbers.  I'm glad we could save them.

We rested for a while after our projects.  We were all pooped out!  We ran to the dumpster and I got a few inserts but not much to speak of.  Then we went home and made breakfast for dinner.  YUM.  Supa came home and joined us and we had a lazy night of TV watching.

Monday, I had off and so did Supa!  WOW!  We took Dazzle and Neon to get their 6 month teeth cleaning and check up in the morning.  No cavities!  YAY!

We like to keep our teeth happy.  :)  My kids know how to brush!!!
Then we took them to school and signed them in late.  They wanted to stay home with us and it was tempting but we needed some alone time!

Supa took me to Walmart to get a couple of random things we needed and then we went straight back home.

**Our dishwasher has been making some bad noises for a few days so I text our landlord on Saturday to let her know it was acting up.  She came over with her husband to check it out and they said it was about 20 years old and that it was DONE!  They ordered us a new one that day and it will be delivered and installed on Thursday!  I am so grateful for our wonderful landlords!  They really take care of us and we couldn't have gotten luckier!**

We hung out at the house for a while and then Supa took me to lunch.  We decided to go to Ruby Tuesday's.  We both had burgers and the salad bar and it was delicious!  We went back home and both passed out in food comas until the kids came home from school.

Once my team of all four Darling's was reassembled, we all went outside to vacuum, Armor All and wash the van and the truck.  We got done in record time and now our vehicles are clean again, hopefully they will stay that way for a little while....

Supa made brats for dinner and we had another night of quiet,  TV watching time together.  I did not want the long weekend to end but...like I said in the beginning, since I'm only working 2 days this week, I won't complain!

Until tomorrow,

Apple
