Happy Friday, peeps!! I'm so glad this week is almost over!!!
I have 3 tattoos. I don't think I've ever shown them here before....Let me tell the story of how they came about real quick....
Jade decided for her birthday one year (several years ago) that we should get tattoos together. This was going to be our first tattoos ever so it was definitely something we wanted to do at the same time.
Let me just add that this was a huge feat to overcome. We both knew we wanted tattoos but I had a hard time with Supa. He HATES tattoos and argued with me to the death! After about a two week argument I basically told him that if he really loved me, he would love me with tattoos. This was MY body and I got to make the decisions on what I wanted to do with it AND if he didn't like it, there was the door. As you can see, we are still married many years later. :)
When it came down to figuring out what I wanted to put on my body for the rest of my life, it wasn't that hard of a decision. I knew I wanted to get a butterfly because my Grampa has one. I also love butterflies and I felt like it was right for me. Jade loves butterflies too so this worked out perfectly. We decided we were going to get the same tattoo in the same location. Why, not? She's my sister! (Once we talked more, we opted for different colors to show our individuality, which ended up being a wise choice)
We went to a local tattoo shop and started looking at the artwork. Most of the choices were airbrushed (I thought that was kind of odd but beautiful) and we quickly found our butterfly. The tattoo artist looked mighty familiar to me....Then I realized it was the "airbrush" guy from the flea market. This guy had a booth at the flea market for YEARS and did the most amazing portraits of people and their pets. He charged BUNCHES of money for them and he was the real deal. After asking him what the hell he was doing at the tattoo shop he replied, "I graduated to body art. It's my new canvas." I was sold immediately because I had stood in his booth many times before admiring his airbrush skills. This was going to be good.
We had to decide who was going to go first. We flipped a coin and I lost....SO, I had to go first and man I was nervous!! Yeah, it hurt. It actually hurt like a bitch! I didn't even realize I was holding my breath and he kept telling me that if I didn't breathe he was going to have to stop because I was going to pass out from lack of oxygen in his chair. LOL. After he was about half-way finished with my tat, Jade said, "By the looks on your face, I don't know if I can do this." I promptly replied, "Bitch, you are next and you are so doing this!!!." :)
The end results made it all worth it:

My butterfly. Our tats are supposed to look airbrushed and realistic and I think they do. |

Jade's butterfly. I had to call her 3 times at her desk, email her once and call her cell phone twice to get this photo. LOL Good lookin' out, Jade!! |
I can't post pictures of my two other tattoos....I have one on each wrist, facing me. One says Dazzle (her real name with a heart) and one says Neon (his real name with a moon over it). My Mom is an artist (not sure if I mentioned that before) so per my request, she designed the tattoos and did the lettering for them. Not only are they special because they're the names of my children but also special since now I have something my Mom designed. WIN, WIN! I only had to convince Supa a little this time. I got these only a few years ago and after being married for that long, he realized that there was no point in arguing. Once I set my mind to doing something, there's really no changing it. (smart man!) People wondered if I would later regret putting the tattoos on my wrists....But nope, I love them soooo much and I wouldn't take them away for anything.
Now that I've had tattoos for several years, I've formed two strong opinions about them: (and this is my personal opinion...don't be offended if it doesn't match yours
1: I would never get a tattoo unless it holds a personal meaning for me. I wouldn't just get a tattoo for fun or frivolously. If I get a tat, it's for a reason. You might not know what my reason is or understand it, but if asked
2: I am now a person who has tattoos. Take it or leave it. If you don't like it, I don't give a fuck and I'm not covering them up for ANYONE. If you won't hire me because I have tattoos, I don't want to work for you. There is always somewhere else to take my awesome, tattooed ass. If you want me to be in your wedding, well, my tats will be there too or you can find another bridesmaid. Some sheep-girl will conform and cover her tats up with makeup (yuck). I'm not that girl.
That's just how I feel and I'm not changing me for anyone...... :)
SO, I found myself wavering on #1. recently when I decided it was time for another tattoo. I found a super cool design on Pinterest (I know right...What a taboo place to find your next ink) that as soon as I saw it, I knew it was completely me and I had to have it. It is another butterfly (I'll probably always get those for my Grampa and Jade (and now my Mom has butterflies too) but it's very unique and that's me all the way.
I actually decided to do this post so I could show Patient Woman what I was deliberating between. Super came and looked at my choices yesterday and said today that Patient wanted to see too. Now's the chance for everyone to send me their opinions. Text me, email me, call me, Facebook me or follow my blog so you can leave me a message in the comments section at the bottom but PLEASE, tell me which one you like best. It will greatly help me decide because I love them all and I'm having a hell of time choosing!!

This was the original that I saw. I love it with no color and that's shocking to me because I have never liked tattoos with no color. I am a very colorful person ;) |

If I got the red eye, it would be solely for my love of all things Twilight. Any Twi-hards out there will understand this. |

Supa has the most beautiful blue eyes so any blue eye color would be for him. |

I always wanted purple eyes. |
PS, I colored these with my very own box of Crayola crayons that I keep at my desk for uber-stressful moments :)

If I decide on a green eye, it will be for Dazzle. She has very pretty greens eyes, a mix of Supa's brilliant blue and my big brown ones. LOL |

This one is striking, I think. |
Those are the ones that I've played around with so far. I'll be looking forward to the feedback that I get from everyone. I'm so excited to get my new tattoo and I hope that I can get inked
I'm waiting
Tatted and proud,
Apple
