Weekend Fun

I'll start with some wonderful news:

Aunt Darling broke Grampa Darling out of the hospital prison on Saturday.  He is doing much better.  He is weak and very tired but glad to be in his own house, pissing in his own toilet and sleeping in his own bed.  Can you blame him?  I hope he regains his strength soon so he can resume misbehaving.  (Because that's when he gets to have the most fun :)

Grampa was home for one hour when he called me!  YAY!!  Apparently, he got his hearing aid back on Saturday too so he could hear me loud and clear!  Besides being tired, he sounded like himself.  I told him to get some rest and that I would be calling him on Monday (today, hooray!)  I can't wait to talk to him again and I will keep everyone posted on his progress.

Friday night, Supa and I took the kids to the corn maze.  That was pretty interesting and lots of fun!

Apparently, the owners of the farm create a new design for the corn maze each year, cool!!
It might not look big but they said the maze was over 3 miles and it felt really huge.  Especially when you were lost in it.
That is Dazzle, Neon (with his skeleton, mohawk hoodie on) and Supa in the front.

That flag that Dazzle is carrying was for us to wave up high if we needed assistance or if we gave up.  I mostly used it as a walking stick, we would have never given up.  But it was nice that they gave everyone a flag just in case.
This map was almost all the way at the end and we still needed to look at it to get out!

Each time someone made it out of the maze, someone on a bullhorn said, "Congratulations!  You made it out of the corn maze!!"  We all super screamed when we heard that!  I think we were in there for a little under 2 hours.  Well worth the money spent ($40 for all of us).  We had a blast and to anyone that is looking for a night of family fun, I highly recommend it.  (Good exercise too!)  The kids decided we needed to make this an annual tradition at our house.  Done!

When we were finished with the corn maze, we realized there were all kinds of games and stations set up for more free family fun.  We hung out for a while and did some of the activities.
The photo is dark I know....
This was a tower (pretty high up) where you could stand and see the corn maze from above.  Then you could slide down this huge slide that make lovely noises when you yelled inside of it.  I was going to walk back down the stairs like the other adults but when I saw how much fun the kids had, I slid down too!  Weeeeeeeee!!  That was some fun stuff!  Supa slid down after me and he had a huge grin on his face too.  I think we made the kids stop right around the 5th time they went down.  LOL

Ever been inside a corn snake?  Me either!  It killed my back bending over almost in half but luckily for Supa and I,  it wasn't too long.  The kids ran through, no problem.
That's Dazzle and Neon ahead with their lanterns.

There was a tire maze (much smaller than the corn maze) and we decided to see how fast we could get to the middle:
This is what it looked like from the inside....

Supa likes to lead the way ;)

We didn't make it to the middle!  We took one wrong turn and went back to the beginning.  Supa was tired from working all day and I was tired from the corn maze!  The kids said they were getting wore out too so we decided to call it a night.

We took the kids to get Icee's afterwards and they could barely keep their eyes open long enough to drink them!  :)

Saturday, the kids and I got up to go run some boring errands.  Once we got back, it was time to get down to business.  Neon had a project that he needed to work on for school.  Dazzle was going to work on drawing my tattoo design on my arm so I could get a feel for what it was going to look like there.  I decided to make a big crock pot of chili for dinner and I needed to get started on Neon's pumpkin cookies.

Many hours later:
I just ate some of the leftovers at my desk for lunch.  YUM!

I made these last year and now Neon says he needs them each and every October.  Yes, sir!

Dazzle took a little video game break on the couch and Copper found a warm place to nap.
LOL, silly dog.
I told you there were more dots in near future!

Neon's had to make a diorama from a shoe box for his school project.  I helped him and I think it turned out super cool.

It was of the tropical rain forest.  :)
We had fun making it together.  Heehee!!

Once Supa got home from work, we decided that we would go to the deceased farm the next weekend because we had other plans in mind for that night.  We ate our chili dinner at home with the kids and then we went to Best Buy.  (One of our favorite places to spend on date night)  We looked at video games and got Supa one.  (Not sure what it was called)  We spent some time looking at the blu ray/DVD section and I picked out 5 movies for $20.  What a steal!  They had a good sale going on since Halloween is coming up.
Since the remake is coming out soon, I needed the original so I could brush up.

I honestly couldn't believe that I didn't have it already.  For shame!

Call it what you want but I LOVE this movie!

I so wish Dazzle and Neon could watch this one with me...but they aren't old enough yet.  I don't want to give them nightmares!

Supa called this one corny but I beg to differ.
Grampa and Grama Darling had HBO when I was growing up and one summer when I was home visiting, every single time they showed this movie (about 4 times a day) I watched it.  I was in love with it.  I'm sure it has something to do with Luke Perry being in it but regardless, I can't wait to watch it 4,000 more times!!!  :)
Supa said that we've seen this one before but I don't remember....

I feel like I would have remembered since Taye Diggs is in it (mega hottie) but maybe I let this one slip past me....Either way, I'm ready to see how it is.

I figured if I had the first one, I might as well have them both!
Supa took me to get ice cream (Sonic - yum!) and then we went back home to have some private time, LOL.  I told him if he got me ice cream, he might get lucky.  The kids had just finished watching Dark Shadows so we banished them sent them to Dazzle's room to play for a little while.

The kids passed out and even though Supa and I were planning on watching House on Haunted Hill, we both fell asleep on the couch!  Oops!  I guess we'll take a rain check on that!

Sunday morning we slept in.  I got up finally and made Super a batch of cupcakes for her birthday.  I was planning on taking them to work with me to surprise her on Monday (today, her actual bday) but then we made some last minute plans to visit them at their house later that day so I got busy whipping them up.

After we were ready, we all ran to Walmart and then we took the kids to eat Chinese buffet for lunch.  We went to Super and Patient's house and hung out with them for a while.  Dazzle is in dog sitting training so she was very excited to spend time with all four dogs.  Neon loved playing with the big bulldog, Duke and the smaller dogs.  Unfortunately, we couldn't stay too long because we  had to go home and do our Sunday chores (exercise, cleaning and Monday prep) but we had a great time and I can't wait till we can all hang out again!

I don't know what happened but this morning, I woke up sick.  My nose was dripping on my pillow so I started taking antibiotics and Dayquil right away.  I have too much going on to be sick right now.

I think I've talked enough for today.  I have a few worky things to finish so I can go home and rest my sicky self.

Happy birthday to Super today!!  We love you so much and I hope your birthday was amazing!!

Laters,

Apple
